with 3 out 4 the 4 tanks at least, dark night for sure cant last without a healer imo pld has clem. gnb has aurora and their heart and good migis. warrior ofc glint and wedding.
Paladin won't even need clemency on most boss fights and small trash packs, its innate healing is enough. And, of course, clemency means losing substantial DPS, so isn't great when trying to be a one-(wo)man party. But on the flipside, PLD does get the AOE party heal on top of clemency, both of which are good for "the healer is dead but I want to keep the DPS alive" situations.
But, just to complete the list, Warrior of course would be the best for this. Although PLD and GNB are pretty equal to WAR against bosses, warrior has healing that scales up with multiple enemies (and causes no loss of damage) and so can take on large trash packs better than all the others.
And then, yes, DRK is the worst for wanting to play a tank to be party-independent.
Yep heh. Nice signature I like it is there a site to make one like this for me?
Been reconnecting with WHM lately... and enjoying it. I actually like the new Thin Air more. If I asked for something with it, it would be maybe a third charge, and for it to make your next spell instant. Right now, aside from resses, it feels like it exists to improve the MP economy of a job that IMO has unfair MP economy compared to AST, so it's giving us a solution to a problem as opposed to feeling cool or empowering.
Other improvements would be another charge of Assize, more damage on Misery, and IMO we need to shift something to earlier levels. Even making Tetragrammaton a CNJ ability would help; not asking for a lot when ASTs have Essential Dignity as early as Sastasha.![]()
I will never understand how 1 free spell a minute feels better than 5-6 free spells every 2 minutes.
It doesn't, most who argue such are contrarians or never understood how to use old thin air effectively. Probably the latter.
Or they think "More button presses=gud" without realizing what they lost for that one additional button press.
It's just a meme image resized - but it also wouldn't be hard to make from scratch. Start with the official art, resize and rotate some images of pepsi cans and paste them in, then paste in the Pepsis icon. There's various free image editors, both web based and not. I tend to use "GIMP" (yeah, awful name) because it's free but it's a bit heavyweight to start with.
There are some websites that can take a portrait of your character and list things like job levels, stats, achievements you're proud of, etc and put it all on a fancy card but I haven't messed with those so I can't give specific tips.
I mean, yeah. That's why the thin air nerf was such a big deal. WHM's economy depended on it a lot.

Funny enough they fixed white mages mana problems from heavensward with just thin air. How did they think well let’s make it almost like heavensward times with whm is beyond me. Maybe the job designer team takes inspiration from the cruise chaser theme (Forward and back and then go forward and back. And then go forward and back, then put one foot forward) because white mage has a lot of strange backwards design decisions.
You give them too much credit. There's like 4 people on the job design team. There's what? 19 jobs now? All the devs play DPS classes so they get all the attention. Healers are just last minute, lazy crap they pull out of their backsides. Making them as homogenized as they are makes it easier to just slap something on all of them so they don't need to spend any time actually designing anything rather than have anything to do with balance. There is no inspiration. If there were, you wouldn't see all these haphazard changes. They have no idea what they're doing or where they're going with healers.Funny enough they fixed white mages mana problems from heavensward with just thin air. "Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."

It was more of a meme from my side. I can whole heartedly agree with you that the job design team doesn’t care about the healer role in general anymore. I mean just look how really good reaper is right out of the gate and then take sage for example (almost the same as sch). You give them too much credit. There's like 4 people on the job design team.
