Bring Quality Notorious Monsters to FFXIV!
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/40738-Highly-Notorious-Monstersz
How i travel around world to complete my quests, is up to meyou have the option of feet, chocobo, gobbue, and airships for exploration. Why do you want to restrict the way /i/ play, when you can easily change the way you play and be happy? ^-^
you title'd this in a confusing way. i'm thinking you mean to make teleporting free and at will and i'm sure some others who don't read think that as well. i also agree that we should be teleporting LESS, however, currently the zones are massive and have the ability to get monotonous. when they release their area revamps i'm sure they will add more immersion and i will support the lessening of anima but probably not the abolition as anima and teleporting is a feature this game was built on (the lore, kinda)
I say this in all the threads like this but...
I think we should have a system of entirely free teleports but only between the main camp crystals, then keep "return" in so we can get back to our current camp and keep the 15 min cooldown, with death being a free return. If we want to teleport out to the branching aetherythe crystals like Turning Leaf for moogle, we could just pay gil instead.
Pros of this system:
- Encourages exploration far more than current system.
- Still convenient enough to not have us waste time by walking everywhere.
- Never have to worry about running out of anima again. With the current system, zero anima basically means you're not going anywhere.
- Gets rid of "partying up and porting out", everyone can just port out to camp right away and meet there.
Cons of this system:
- If you're someone who doesn't play frequently, you'll be doing more running around than before.
*Feel free to add to this, I can't think of anything.*

I think that when 2.0 comes out and there are several areas, that each area should only have 1 aethryte to port to. It would be kind of like outpost warping from FFXI. They certainly shouldn't get rid of anima or self-teleporting all together though, I don't feel like having to pay a WHM 50k to teleport me 2 zones away from my destination.
I don't disagree with you but it's a flawed argument for an MMO. As party play is a big part of any MMO, people expect others to get to a destination the quickest way. Therefore someone who does not like to teleport because it takes away the traveling aspect is restricted to using a teleporting method, because no one wants to wait for a guy to jump on an airship and chocobo out when he can teleport right to where a dungeon / quest objective is located.

One of the better ideas I've read lately, anima limitations is a pain in the ass when you got limited play time and want to quickly help frineds or join dungeon run but dont have enough to port around.I say this in all the threads like this but...

Anima doesn't need to be abolished, being able to teleport people to crystals they have not touched needs to be abolished.
I would love to see them change it so the most anima you can have at one time is like 20 or something. That way it is still in the game but you have to choose very wisely when to use it. Believe it or not, I am still actually all for only certain classes, (like whmKey Points as to why it should be taken out ( if they havent already began to do that already).
- Takes away from the exploration
- Makes it easy to get to places thus making it easier to complete everything the MMO has to offer in a Short period of time.
- Home Points are a nice addition to the game
I know I'm probably the Minority here, but at least I get my idea out there.) being able to teleport. I actually liked that system from XI, but I am sure that shocks exactly none of you

I think Anima is a good thing, just need to be responsible with it. It keeps the game going on longer so you dont feel like there is no content when you bypass everything in the world all the time and it pushes players to take a break from the game so you don't lose endless hours of the day.
