Sometimes I feel these forums never played any other mmos or only played like a bit of it and called it trash.
If there's no new content being made, the game has ended. If there's new content coming, it hasn't ended. We could probably argue cases like FFXI in maintenance mode, which gets updates but no new expansions or major story content, but there's still a finite amount to do, and when you're done, you move on.
You took the hardest raid of lost ark (which will take less time than Thordan Ultimate to clear), the 3 others commander raids are way more easier, and are comparable to our savage tier
Lost Ark developers literally had to apologize to the playerbase for releasing content too quickly because players can't clear them quickly enough!
There are many who think that Lost Ark's content is merely grinding after grinding for that gear honing, but no! Lost Ark's raids in T3 are way meatier than anything FF14 has to offer.
Take a look at the latest legion raid in Lost Ark:
https://youtu.be/7GqyVwsCTCE
It has six floors, last a total of nearly an hour, and is more difficult than our current Savage tier.
And that's just **ONE** raid.
Will Square Enix try to match the cadence of Lost Ark? I doubt it! But in a fantasy world I wish:
- 6 Savage raid floors each tier, with a Savage+ challenge mode that requires BiS, giving players something to do once they get BiS, and this challenge mode gives additional materials for them to gear their alts (like twines) plus dyeable weapons and such!
- Hard mode 24-man raids every odd patch that is around Extreme difficulty and gives same ilvl gear as BiS with different substats.
- More content like Delubrum Savage and Baldesion, maybe at least twice each expansion!
- A full-fledged alternate progression system in the relic zones that fully rewards gearing - by giving the Delubrum Savage equivalent gear the same ilvl as the Savage gear for example.
I sure wish Square Enix also didn't know the meaning of taking it easy!
And before getting access to those raids, you have to grind/grind/grind/grind/grind/ ... / grind/grind /grind
I think that there is not enough hard pve content on FF14 but LA is worst on that point

FYI, XI is still getting major story content. Look up The Voracious Resurgence, I believe they are even getting new models in XI. Not sure what happened but SE thought it would be okay to give XI new content. That's cool.
EQ1 is still releasing content.
Just sayin'.
I only read the first page of the thread so i am sorry if i am missing something, but in my opinion, lost ark and ff14 have different focus on what to accomplish, lost ark focus more on their pve, so most new content would be the raid, while ff14 focus more on stuff for all player whether you are casual or hardcore, i agree they should be making more ultimate or stuff like arsenal or delibrium savage, but look at the participation rate of those event, very very low in my opinion, the dev cant spent all their energy on stuff that most player dont even care or even know, heck, if the dev really want to make stuff to be hard, they can make after every death in trial/raid, you need to walk from graveyard to instance or make you get debuff that permanently weaken for 10 min, or make you have to queque again after every death, they didnt, cause they want us to have better experience in their own way, also the dev avoid making a deadly mechanic that because of one person didnt do something, everyone wipe in normal content, just my personal opinion on this
Nah, because for better or worse they understand that people should play other games out on the market, and nor do they want a model which contradicts that. People shouldn't feel enslaved/forced to play the game.
