The TL;DR seems to be that the power creep of making tanks tankier and healers healier over the expansions plus the dev team trying so hard to stick to the trinity that began to unravel in Gordias to finally seemingly accepting that everyone is a dps despite the color of your role led to where we are now. Current band-aid is removing/combining aspects of all the healing toolkits healers have and replace them with more "interesting" dps abilities while perhaps even nerfing tank sustain a tad(cries in GNB). This would force more healing interaction from healers without needing to ramp damage while also giving them more to do in the downtime between scheduled damage. I have hope in this already looking at how well put together SGE is, we'll have to pray for meaningful changes in 6.1.

Messed up the skill order, mb, can't edit it on mobile site though, but I still think I got my point across, sage is the same exact 1spam borefest as every other healer, having an extra button to press twice every 90s doesnt magically fix the monotony.
Further SGE doesn't even have a skill that heals while doing damage (without Kardia activated) like ES or Assize or Macrocosmos does it? Just Pneuma? *shakes head* A lot of these damage abilities given to SGE could have also do healing w/o Kardia ON TOP of what Kardia does like Pneuma. Honestly a wasted oppertunity.
I find it funny how AST has more damage based healing abilities than the damage oriented healer.
I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

I didn't say it was perfect did I? I didn't say it was every healers dream did I? But can you argue that it is't MORE fun to play than the other healers? Generally speaking, the newer jobs feel better and are more fun to play. This is still true even with SGE. All I'm saying it's a step in a better direction. I would agree with this. Sage is the first healer that actually pulled me in. In my case, most of that is just aesthetics though, not actual game feel. I *like* that I can do the pewpews; I still find it disappointing that I end up doing the same clunky pewpew 100 times over instead of having more variety.I didn't say it was perfect did I? The new jobs do seem to improve with each expansion, but even allowing for that I think it is difficult to argue against the reality that even Sage is often boring to play because of the framework that all healers adhere to. And the reality is that the only step we can take things now is to give healers more DPS fun, because the game is long past the point of having abandoned more complex buff/debuff mechanics or harder hitting enemies in favor of a very noob-friendly, positioning-based DPS paradigm.
(In a way, FF has been slowly moving away from RPG-strategy gameplay and more toward action-RPG gameplay, with the unfortunate limitation that it was never really designed to *be* an action RPG. I would love if they moved toward randomized boss mechs so that (a) it would contribute more to a reactionary, action-RPG style game feel and (b) would probably give tanks and healers much more to do. But that can't happen either because scripted bosses are a way of keeping the game accessible and selling well.)
I did mention it. I just find it sad that it could have Pneuma and one or two other abilities like it is all. (Also why 90?)
Personally the only part of SGE I find fun is being able to dash to another player/boss. Its not to my playstyle and probably never will be, even if they make changes to separate it from the healer formula (aka make it less 1 button spammy).
That said I do like Pepsis and Toxicon as ideas. I feel like they could've been used more into SGE's playstyle though.
