Ishgard Housing No Lottery For Wards

probably unpopular opinion here but wouldn't it be fairer for the people who built up the firmament and got their titles/went under the top 100 to have the first come first serve option?

i mean, hundreds of people were working for hours (and i mean 8h+ for some) but now everyone and their mother can buy a house via lottery, seems very unfair to me bc there are the players who did nothing and only came to grab the fêtes.
on my server these fête only players even shouted about how they'll buy a house and made fun of the hard workers...

We have literally built nothing. SE could have just as easily plopped the new district down all of a sudden and said that restoration has occured while we were doing other things. Tying ability to buy Empyreum plots to Restoration participation is an awful idea. And I say that as Saint of the Firmament.

Why would it make sense for people who already got an exclusive reward to also get rewarded again for the same thing?

yes they could have done that but they didn't and still we were hoarding items for hours instead of doing other things. i just think it's unfair to not have a higher chance or even 100% chance of getting a house there. i'd give my own house and fc house in a heartbeat to finally (after 6 years) have an fc house in empyreum...

You did all of it of your own volition. You could have just not participated and it would have changed nothing. We all knew from the start Restoration would have never "failed". I don't see why someone should receive an extra reward for actions that had zero influence on that reward even being possible.

They have stated enormous times that not everyone is supposed to have a house, or ever be able to get one. They want houses to essentially be bragging rights. A prestigious badge that only so few have, and they are accompanied with bragging rights if you managed to get one. It's clear the community has forgotten about this over the years. Housing was mentioned at the start of the release of housing that it's a privilege not a right. Housing flippers have over abused those privileges trying to make money to the point that now this lottery system is result of that greed.

This is a similar topic, as I'm hoping they see this as its a part of the housing lottery info from the Live Letter. This is coming from an Australian in the new Materia DC.

You mentioned in the Live Letter that fcfs might be considered if there's demand, there is demand, please reconsider! The lottery system is meant to alleviate the need for players to placard spam to try and get a house, and to a lesser extent, alleviate the housing crisis. On our brand new Materia DC/Servers, this isn't a problem yet, as none of the housing districts are even open, let alone have any problems to require the lottery system. I completely understand the need for it on well established servers that are lucky to even see a house for sale at the moment, let alone get it.

Waiting 2 more months is a long time, especially if its 100% lottery it'll be even longer depending on RNG Having all 5 districts open on Materia DC on 1 day will be even harder on the servers congestion, than just Ishgard opening like everywhere else.

Can you please consider opening the older districts (Mists, Lav Beds, Goblet, Shirogane) for Materia DC before 6.1 as fcfs, then when 6.1 comes out with Ishgard, Emperyum can be whatever suits the situation then?

If not sooner, can we please have some fcfs? 100% lottery on 100% empty lots that have never been owned just doesn't make sense for our DC

No problem. Until instanced housing is released (if ever) it would be vastly improved in comparison to the current system. If I lost out, at least I would know that it future, in a lottery based-system, I would have a realistic chance of getting a house with a realistic time investment. Not like at present when I don't even try.

Agreed with the first two posters here.

Please make SOME of the first wards in 6.1 FCFS.

They did this before, the entire plague of solo fc's came and snatched them all, there are entire WARDS which have fallen to the "FC first rule" ... it doesnt help. As much as i want every FC to have a house, SE could adress this by giving all access to a workshop one way or another ... its not like we know the ironworks /s

Till then solo fc's will plague the field everytime we say "fc first"

To the comment that people just read the title. i don't see that at all. People don't want people to live the way the current system is. The OP literally stated he spent 24 hours of his life clicking. Will more people try yes. And that is great. I hope everyone who has progressed far enough tries. That kind of participation are numbers SE can look at. I know dozens of people who don't try but would like a house, but make due with a room.


If i am reading reddit right this is all moot anyways.
