the future of the game and of DUNGEONS

first of all its not a "the game is dead" topic. far from it.
    now lets start.
the game have more players that ever and not going down even in the more dead end of patch times(yes people play less). but we see that now each patch take longer? so over all the time for the expansion be longer as well. we can t take that a game that being more cash going to give less content and take longer at that. we did get les gear sets for starters.
now for dungeons. if to go by the LL there be non. expert be the same 3 we got now up to 7.0? there something new they do for dungeons but what it be is not reviled so far(if it did please post here). why? like dungeons are nice a and fun casual content. if not them hen make more relevant to end game fates.
lastly the push to make it a more SOLO RPG over an mmo. why?? is ff16 doing that bad that they need a solo game and willing to make 14 in to one?
what you think of this things?
no hate and no trash talk please.

Most Final Fantasy games are solo experiences. A lot of Final Fantasy players steer clear of XI and XIV because they do not want to be in a multiplayer setting. Trusts alleviate this and create more immersive gameplay for them, and also alleviate longer queue times for obsolete level cap dungeons that take ages to pop in duty finder.

This will enable them to draw more from their intended consumer base by removing the major roadblock to their enjoyment of the game.

Given how strained the team has been since, forever basically, I have no problem with them taking some weeks off for a vacation. Advanced dungeon content will come in the form of Criterion dungeons, though I have no idea what it will entail. Right now we just had a major expansion drop and the main features of each patch have been revealed until 7.0. There will be enough content for all, though it will not cater exclusively to any given group.

As for the subject of FFXVI:
Smooth extended preproduction stage allowed them to make a lot of progress once production actually began
Script and story was solidified without any major complications
Voice acting in British English already has been completed
Impact of Covid-19 -> many graphical improvements they wanted to make in wake of player feedback was delayed significantly, along with a lack of graphic resources (3d models for characters, enemies, etc) that were not finished on time caused a 6-month delay in the intended schedule.
    Battle refinement is still ongoing
They will not show the game until it is essentially ready for pre-orders, they almost certainly want to mimic the lead-up to how FFXIV announces its expansions

Given that FFXVI is a mainline Final Fantasy title, its success is critical to the overall reputation of Square Enix as a whole. SE has already endured various disaster game launches like Marvel's Avengers, etc and its reputation was further strained by the 10+ year development of FFXV, which could only be considered a full game after its Royal Edition release several years after its initial launch. It is therefore reasonable for members of staff to devote some time towards its development so that the game redeems the series, rather than to be a stain on it like some consider FFXV to be.

I desperately hope they massively improve the way the trust system works.

If trust-enabled becomes a hard requirement for all future story content, the design of said content is going to end up suffering heavily. Yoshida essentially admitted last night that Trial 2 in Endwalker was constrained by adding trusts, and that they may have to remove or rework mechanics in older trials to make them trust compatible.

i get all this its just dont cut it. why make an mmo in to a solo game for people that hate mmo's? we dont need more bot like people that we got now in the game. doing solo DF is really fun killing when most people don't care to even say a welcome. try to let people get in to the MMO part. and the fact the the game as an mmo getting more and more players show that people do not fear that scary mmo.
Given how strained the team has been since (the last time the take a big brake). i get it and in the same time dont care as it not my problem . just get more people to the team. you get the cash. this way people can take brakes more often. we know that some of he team work on thing in the free time for free. so how pushed to the lenites they are really?
we need to stop use covid as a reason it not relevant the past half a year at last and in the gaming industry was never.

I felt like the 89 trial was really enjoyable and my experience thus far is that Trusts are better at running it than actual players in Duty Finder. Most fights in FFXIV are telegraphed well and have clear visual tells as to what mechanic is coming up next, so I don't think the game would suffer much. Being able to take on a huge fight like that with my entire party was one of the main highlights of this expansion's msq, and I would hate to see that be discontinued.

As for the above post, they quite literally showed a QR code on screen on last night's LL for people to apply to work for them. They are trying to hire, but applicants are scarce. In wake of that, the team needs to pace itself appropriately so that content quality doesn't suffer. In any case those who want to play the game as a solo RPG largely will not take away from your experience. Being a numbered title, I imagine they feel the obligation to be beholden to the Final Fantasy core audience as a whole, and view the investment as worth it.

That core audience veers away from overly grindy and predatory games, not to mention the kind of communities games like WoW are associated with. FFXIV offering them a means to enjoy the game without the unnecessary things they don't like is a blessing. Mainline Final Fantasy players want to go fight things with their party and experience a great story-they do not want to grind for 100 hours in Eureka/Extremes/Bozja/Savage/etc. That content caters moreso to mmo players, who want the multiplayer experience.

I refuse to gatekeep the game in this regard, and I hope that more rpg players come in and enjoy themselves along with the rest of us here. Hopefully with time they will hone their skills and join the rest of us in group content once they feel ready to do so. These updates will help them take the first steps towards that.

Oh, I don't disagree with you. It just seems like it's unavoidable at this point, so I'd rather focus on improving the nature of their implementation rather than try to prevent the inevitable.

Generally speaking, I actually actively avoid people who treat the game like a single-player game because I've had a lot of bad experiences with them. It takes a weird person to pick up an MMO and try to play it completely solo.

I think it's just the design philosophy Yoshida has adapted to the literal point of "play the way you want to play" but of course it has it's limits. When it comes to the MSQ while it won't be right away it seems the plan is to have it all setup by 6.5? So ARR-HW-SB-SHB-EW somewhat soloable but with certain parts that will require MMO interaction.

See I think one misconception being made is that this change it's not so much about making it a solo MMO, it's fixing an issue that has plagued the game for a while and that's people who want to enjoy the story but are unable to play the game at their own pace because of people who are rushing through roulette to get it done. There are a lot of story dungeon bits that players can't enjoy because veteran players just wanna get it over with, so those new players lose that atmosphere that the veteran players got to enjoy.

So by adapting this solo mentality into older content, it gives them a way to introduce players into the game and allow them to truly play at their own pace, where they can explore dungeons at their leisure without feeling like they are being tugged by the leash to finish it as fast as possible.

It is great they are opening up the gates to people who want to solo things. It's more money for FFXIV because currently the people who want to solo things are not playing. Allowing them to experience a great Final Fantasy game without the forced grouping is a good thing for us and them. Besides, maybe the solo only people they will find out that they like playing with others and that MMOs are pretty cool.
My friend who has only played solo for a majority of the game due to anxiety has finally come out of her shell and is queuing for dungeons by herself instead of waiting for me to unsync her through early game dungeons. She went from a solo-only player to someone who now plays with random people and loves it.

Also, I couldn't give less of a shit that we're getting less dungeons. They are the most boring content in the game bar none. I remember back in HW when we had a lot of dungeons, and half of them were dull and uninspired. I do not know why people want to go back to the days of having absolutely pointless drivel like Neverreap or Hullbreaker Isle. I will take the new type of dungeon "Criterion" plus more alliance raids like DR/CLL/Dalriada/DRS, revamped PvP, crafting and gathering content, deep dungeon, exploration zones, housing updates, QoL changes, and another ultimate over mass amounts of mediocre quality regular dungeons any day.

you got a point but why i never see this people just ask. just say "i am new and can we slow as i want to see more of the dungeon". as i find more and more new players are as good as bots as they never communicates at all. so as i see it the more they push it to being a solo game the more people will not take part in end game. as it now force them to talk to people. but what i can for the love of me get is why play an MMO when you wan tot play solo. there so much better story in solo rpg.

adn i one more time ask why this peopel come to an mmo? as fore boring content i cant stand crafting so lets not get new things for it? no i think crafter need to get as much as the rest. people want to do dungeons as it not to hard content that give relevant rewords and glams. no content is for all but its not a reason to want the content you don't like to be taken out of the game. just think of how you fell the content you like was cut out.
