Also, stop mentioning veterans they don't care. All they care about are new players, so use stories like "my friend stopped playing because he was tired of pressing a single button 99% of the time". That friend is me btw, I played during 1.0+beta, quit, friends invited me during HW needed a healer and I just couldn't do it anymore(Started again at the end of HW as tank).
it doesn't need to be damage options even, just a [Thing To Do]. buffs, debuffs, resource management, field management--literally anything would be fine, as long as it's appropriately engaging from moment to moment during downtime.
