Do you not understand how their lottery works?Having some First Come First Serve wards would just reduce the amount of lottery houses, and make it harder to win through the lottery, so as someone who prefers the lottery system over the old system (I have gotten 3 houses in the past through the old system, and it sucks, I got burst blood vessles in my ankles from sitting too long) I would still advocate for no First Come First Serves.
Plus, it just causes stress to the login servers, as everyone tries to log in and go to the housing all at once as soon a servers are live, and makes login queues worse.
As individual players you only have 1 ticket and one shot.
Beside of some rare bad small, most of plots will have a new owner by the time lottery period is over.
It really doesn’t matter 1 or 2 wards on FCFS

You do realize, housing or no housing, the login queue will get congested anyway. Correct? EVERY game shows this when they go down for maintenance. Then after coming back up. People clog the queue's to get in.Having some First Come First Serve wards would just reduce the amount of lottery houses, and make it harder to win through the lottery, so as someone who prefers the lottery system over the old system (I have gotten 3 houses in the past through the old system, and it sucks, I got burst blood vessles in my ankles from sitting too long) I would still advocate for no First Come First Serves.

I would love you guys at SE to wait until you have a house system where everybody got a chance to access to instead of this.
It's not fun as it is now.
Bots problem you name it
Yes the black market for the house auction is still happening and yes people do not care about the rules they keep doing it.
Someone mentioned instance housing system could work and i believe adding more wards maybe or open up another city... there is so many great ideas you guys can take a pick in what the system can handle.
In anyway i need coffee it's way early in the morning so good morning and hope you all will have a nice day /night/ evening
/Cheers
Ps. About the lottery yes go full lottery for the Ishgard housing

Dear SE,
Lottery system for every plot, from the beginning and forever more, please and thank you.

but.. then..
hmm.. and..
are you saying you actually WANT housing savage to be something you have to do?
No, people who want housing mostly don't want to play the clicky game for days at a time.
They want a house to decorate and/or RP and/or hangout in.
IF you are available to login after maintenance and IF you don't error out and IF you manage to beat all the others RACING to the plot who may or may not have better hardware or a better connection than you.
SAMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON AND RING THAT BELL IF YOU...
.. sorry I had to.
Yes, but there are people who specifically queue and hammer login servers because they have that one chance to get a plot. If they don't HAVE to we won't have the "midnight rush" of people who just want houses logging in. This will literally reduce server stress on patch day.

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I don't know where you THINK there are ever as few as 2 bots clicking on a housing sign. My point is that a system which requires the player to sit for DANGEROUS periods of time for the CHANCE they MIGHT ping the server at EXACTLY the correct time is a lottery in and of itself. You are correct that 5 bots clicking is better odds than 100 players entering a lottery. That being said you have absolutely zero proof that Ishgard will SOMEHOW be so unpopular that only 2 people are clicking on a placard, ever, in the entire time the house is available.
I am also not willing to hurt other people for better odds NOR am I willing to support a system that ENCOURAGES botting and griefing other players for better odds. I had people fly minions in my face for hours, set off their loudest and most obnoxious abilities in my face for hours, do anything and EVERYTHING to interfere with the placard including jumping all over it and parking mounts on top of it. All of which can be circumvented but it is annoying and griefing none-the-less. It's a terrible system on multiple levels that cannot be gone fast enough.
Once again as I said in my edit if they want to open a few wards as READY-TO-BUY-NO-TIMERS and they can absolutely guarantee there will be no queue issues that's fine. I'll support that. I will not support asking people to risk their health for a crummy system that's basically a lottery anyway except you have to waste time on it instead of entering and moving on.

I'm still 100% down for an instanced housing system. I didn't even want a yard but a house was the only way to get multiple floors and double the item slots. Give me that in an apartment building and I'm gucci.I would love you guys at SE to wait until you have a house system where everybody got a chance to access to instead of this.

There's been a few good points raised for and against already but I would prefer 50/50 as stated above. Half First Come First Serve half Lottery. Obviously moving forward it will all be lottery however I know several people myself included that have wanted Ishgard housing for a very long time now. The announcement of a new housing district being in Ishgard people who loved the Heavensward story really want to be there. However if it is all lottery you take away from those who are wanting to relocate from a heavily desired area for housing, Shirogane is a perfect example of this. Essentially though if people are relocating you aren't losing a plot overall you're opening one in possibly one of these well sought after locations and adding it into the lottery. As for getting errors and what not, trust me I know all about that and with OCE Ping on NA getting my personal was hell but I got it eventually, it may have taken a few tries but it is possible. For some people lottery will be great but for others not so much. So with the implementation of the new system I would make the new district half 50/50 to allow for a much smoother transition into the lottery system as a permanent thing. Having all lottery is just a recipe for disaster imo.

This is the best post in this thread.I don't think you understand how odds work if you think going against 2 to 5 bots is the same as your number being pulled out of a lottery of hundreds on a plot.

I would like at least 1/4th of plots fcfs whenever they release plots period. Sitting in limbo for a house sucks, with the patch launch rush I at least knew right away if I got a house or not.
