Ishgard Housing No Lottery For Wards

As the title states. You just said head to the forums to post your response in regards to the information in the Live Letter.

You implement a new housing zone with the Firmament. We all knew this is what it was. Then later down the line after people start saving money to move or get a house in general, you say that it's now going to be a lottery system. You need to make a good portion of the housing plots FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. It is not fair as there are TONS of people who waited for this housing ward since Heavensward came out. And anticipated it. Lottery for any house relinquished or demolished is fine. And a portion of the new housing should be lottery. But it needs to be First Come/First Serve on at least half. Then moving forward. ALL lottery system is fine.

This needs to be what is done.


Further. For those that are praising the lottery system. You do not know just how bad this is going to be for you. You say that going against a Bot is bad. It's really not. I spend 3 days, 8 hours a day, clicking on the placard with my controller and won my house after moving over from Excalibur. There were bots there. But you know what? There were only 2 or so at a time. Sometimes One. You know what Lottery does? It now takes EVERY person that was Raiding, farming mounts, leveling, crafting, doing maps, etc and allows them to go "Y'know, I never really thought of having a house. But hey why not". Then they stop what they are doing, go put their lottery in, and just go right back to the content they WANTED to be doing in the first place. They'll get the plot, then do nothing with it but walk into it every so often to save it. People who aren't at plots fighting for them don't really care to have them in the first place. That's just basic logic. Instead of fighting Two or Three others for a plot, you'll now be fighting Thousands at a small chance to win.

Now, why bring this up you ask? If you voice that you want a portion of housing to be First Come/First Server. Then you'll have an immediate chance of grabbing a house when the new wards drop. Instead of throwing your number in a gigantic pile.

Please Yoshi, don't make the start of 6.1 housing(Ishgard) all lottery system at launch. I'm sure many people are going to go "Bot user! It stops the bots!".

One, I'm asking for it to be split, not fully first come first serve.
Two, I'd rather have a chance at a house at my own will and RNG over the sever deciding my fate with its RNG system on how it will decide who gets a house!
I know I'm "privileged" in a video game (mind you it is....), but settling on a house in a district that I never cared for, to FINALLY having the dream area I've always wanted a house in.
Yes I know either system doesn't guarantee me a spot at being able to transfer over to Ishgard. And its not like that is another house gone, mine would be open and in the coveted Shirogane!
Again, maybe its just my paranoia, but I don't like the idea of the servers deciding my fate vs me having a chance to grab one on opening day at my own pace and such.

Please make SOME of the first wards in 6.1 FCFS.

Many of us have been waiting specifically for Ishgard with the intention of relocating to ISHGARD. I got a house with the intention of moving to my dream city of Ishgard. We are NOT taking an extra house away, we are simply moving, and our old plot will be available for someone else to win. I want the chance to fight for a relocated plot MYSELF and not leave it all to RNG. Please just give us this chance to try of our own volition to win a house and not just leave it all up to chance. PLEASE MAKE SOME OF THE WARDS IN ISHGARD'S 6.1 RELEASE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!

I say this as someone who has only ever tried to purchase two houses (one personal one fc) and succeeded both times because my ADHD superpower is clicking buttons quickly and accurately, apparently -

The first house I beat 7 bots, the second house I beat almost 20. It is RIDICULOUS and DISGUSTING how many people are botting in an attempt to purchase housing, leaving honest players to sit in the same position for HOURS on end. It is unhealthy and dangerous for people to sit so long without getting up. I sat for 9 hours on the first house and had to ice my hand for several hours afterwards to get full motion back. I couldn't even type to thank the people who congratulated me when I won because I was in so much pain. There needs to be a lottery system and it needs to apply to all housing. I'm actually disappointed they would even consider keeping a first-come-first-serve system like what we have now.

Being fast and sitting for hours right now doesn't even guarantee you a house because it isn't about who clicks fastest it's about who clicks at the EXACT TIME the server makes the house available. I would rather be able to submit an entry and go play the game and live my life and not worry about it. It's the same odds as if I was there clicking anyway. I have no desire to inflict the risk of health issues on any more people.

Edit: and they explained on the livestream why they don't want to start with open/available FCFS lots, it's going to create a lot of congestion and log in issues on popular servers. Unless they can prove that we're not going to have an endwalker login queue extreme repeat, I wouldn't support it. If they can prove only a few hundred people intend to run for the first houses, then I'll support it. I just hate the FCFS timer system.

I fought through the errors, and they were all snapped up by the time I was able to log in after errors last time the released wards (which was less than 10 minutes).

At least with a lottery you still have a chance at a house if you encounter one of those errors.

I don't agree with some stuff op said but I'm here also for showing my disagreement towards 6.1 only Lottery.

I am in the opinion that the housing system had to change and I like the idea of the lottery, it was needed so everyone has a chance without being there clicking like a madman for days without a life on a placard. Even tho I think you should let people sink their gil into more than 1 plot if it's going to take days to see if you won or not, because if you don't win, you just lost every other oportunity to get a house, specially mediums or larges.

I know a lot of people, myself included who waited years for having this oportunity to get a house in Ishgard, we took part of the whole reconstruction of The Firmament, we were saving gil just to be able to relocate to our dream district, and now out of sudden we won't have that option at all. Yes, we have a house, but this is still sad for us, not gonna lie.

I think that 50/50 for 6.1 would be the best option, you give the chance to everyone to get something, and if it's not 50/50 at least some wards FCFS so we have a chance to fight against the logging time and someone else running to the plot we want to snatch. So please, give us some wards first come first serve in 6.1

I don't think you understand how odds work if you think going against 2 to 5 bots is the same as your number being pulled out of a lottery of hundreds on a plot.

Having some First Come First Serve wards would just reduce the amount of lottery houses, and make it harder to win through the lottery, so as someone who prefers the lottery system over the old system (I have gotten 3 houses in the past through the old system, and it sucks, I got burst blood vessles in my ankles from sitting too long) I would still advocate for no First Come First Serves.

Plus, it just causes stress to the login servers, as everyone tries to log in and go to the housing all at once as soon a servers are live, and makes login queues worse.

I've played since 1.0. I got housing when they first dropped on Malboro and have an FC and Personal on Excalibur now. It is not as hard as you make it out to be. People deserve the chance to at least try Lottery you have a chance against thousands of others. We call that gambling
