    better to voice our discontent now and prevent the idea from growing until it can't be stopped.

    To me, I personally hoped Yoshi would be a voice of reason in square to keep them from exploiting the players with NFTs.

    Exactly. Several companies that have expressed interest (or absolute intent) in NFTs have reconsidered because of negative feedback. It can and does work. It's better to say that we don't want it now rather than wait until they release something ruined by it.
