After I finished up my roulettes for the day yesterday, I decided to queue directly for Copied Factory and Tower at Paradigm's Breach. Partly to keep getting some DRK practice in to refresh myself on it (haven't played it for about 5 months, so pre-EW), partly to celebrate finally getting my stupid Bunker fending chest by doing other Nier raids for a change, and partly because... well, I just like the raids, and the potential of a new collab with Re[in]carnation got me in the mood for them to pass the time.

Queue pops pretty quickly, land into Factory. One of the other tanks drops instantly, as people do from anything that isn't braindead content, but the rest of us all head forward. PLD has his stance on, so I just leave mine off since I'm, again, mostly there for DRK practice.

... Well, I ended up turning my stance on early out of concern, because this guy refused to do mechanics at all and nearly died a few times. I was honestly expecting him to drop at any moment. He's not the main character of this story, though.

No, that goes to the other PLD who backfills for the group that lost their tank. She decided she was going to fight him for MT on Hobbes, of which I just stayed out of. This continued for the tank and flight unit minibosses, until I guess the first PLD gave up on fighting with her and turned his stance off.

We get to Engels, at about 70% I turn my stance on just to get ready for the adds phase soon. Normally this'd be enough time for the MT to establish aggro and thus I'm not in danger of pulling it by accident... but, somehow, that's what happens!

Worse: I turn my stance back off so they can take it back, and they can't get it back from me before adds drop. I'm just doing my regular DRK stuff, and my gear was worse than this PLD's given I was sitting at fresh lv80 and they were at 90 with some Classical pieces.

How they couldn't take aggro back from me until they started spamming shield lob, I have no idea. The same thing happened when we reach 9S; I turn my stance on a bit ahead of when the tank adds drop, rip aggro, turn it off hoping they can take it back, it takes them forever to regain aggro.

Worst of all: you remember that first PLD who kept eating every mechanic? He held aggro from me being in tank stance easily.

I just... I know DRK is top tank DPS right now, but..really?

    Yeah it is.

I joined a PF for p3s kill today and i ended up in the most unlucky PF ever.
They were pre made static ? i think? i looked them up afterwards so it seemed like it.
It comes down to double morality.

Half of the party died and we had to re-fight the fight 3 times. When we got to Death's Toll Mechanic i mislicked my Macrocosmos before hand and i panicked a bit and stood in the wrong number

They suddenly put the blame on me and said i dont understand numbers etc etc GJ GJ type of stuff.

OUUUF i got so angry that i left. I truuuuly dislike when their own group DIES to simple mechanics its ok!? but when a stranger makes a MISTAKE its like "UR FAUL UR FAULT".

Thank god blacklist exist but i wish blacklist was powerful. I just play this game casually now so i dont need to put more fire to their ugly atmosphere.
The same thing happened to me last week. I joined a premade to train on foutains / tornadoes (P3).

Oh boy. We had 15 wipes before we got to the tornadoes, all caused by placement errors, people not moving between the dashes, etc. No problem, I stay now, no time to look for another group anyway.

Finally, we got the phase I wanted to do all evening. I make a stupid mistake, I die. I apologize right away... Only to be yelled at in the chat, where I'm accused of everything and anything (including being placed in the wrong group during the dark orbs... While I only tried to compensate a ranged dps who went in the tank / melee group).

It infuriated me. No one to say a word about the BLM who made us wipe with the black flames (four times, dammit); however, a random who does something stupid and it's the end of the world.

Red mage tried getting mad at me (the tank) for not moving away from the boss when we all had the aoe markers on us, causing him to try and avoid me by running into a mine followed by overlapping his aoe marker over mine and resulting in his death.

Buddy, you have displacement. I don't. Not only that but the only ranged moves I have are for pulling. It's your job to move away from the boss, not mine. I even shoved myself as far to the edge as possible to give him a bit of space but for some reason he decided to press right up into the corner with me.

Thankfully the healer and other DPS defended and comm'd me but, bruh.

That sounds like a very bizarre and baffling way for a static to waste its own time

Ran normal raid roulette, got E6 on SCH.
It was 9min of pure chaos, as expected with that fight and I had a lot of fun.

Except that my co heal saw fit to write "sch use your aether stacks for something else then dmg how about that" mid fight when I used a grand total of 4 AF on ED while the rest went into healing (like Lustrate clutch healing people to keep them from dying), rotated my oGCD as best as I could and GCD healed if necessary, ressed twice as much as them because they happily let me hard ress two people while doing nothing when people ate stacks left and right and died to one shots while they healed roughly half as much, let their Addersgall overcap multiple times and ignored several of their oGCDs.

Get your facts straight before you complain.
Seeing a Broil castbar doesn't mean I'm insta dumping all AF on ED nor does it mean I'm not healing.
I don't get these "hOw aBouT yOu ACKCHUALLY hEaL" types of healers often but when I do, they're always a treat because they're usually the ones that are not healing.

Attempting to assassinate the tank as squishy caster, genius!

There is something in the water that causes sudden rush of the stoopid the moment you queue as Red Mage, I swear.

It was revelation most astounding when I discovered how many players do not see cast bar and assume you are not healing. The HP bars filling back up is magic! Well, it kinda is but still!

Try filling the HP bars to bursting one run, make certain everyone sees you casting gcd heals then watch as the comms roll in. We wonder how you get mentors that still believe Cure 1 is viable outside of low level healing, this is how.

If only these same persons could dedicate all of the mental processing they sink into watching your cast bar into something more productive, like mechanics and their rotations.

Welp, here I am in this thread again. New story. So a friend and I (the same NIN-player from the last time I visited this thread, but they're a RDM for this one) decide to queue for some experts for no reason other than sheer boredom. First one we get into is Dead Ends. Easy clap, right? Nope. Per usual I'm running WAR, because uh.. really, why wouldn't I? Anyway, everything is cool for the first couple trash pulls. We pause at the first boss to briefly explain the fight to the second DPS, a new leaf, at their request. The healer (a WHM) uses this pause as an opportunity to begin berating me for healing myself on the trash. They insist that they queued as a healer because they want to heal, not to sit idly by while everyone else gets to enjoy themselves. I disregard their rather colorfully worded commentary and continue to play the job the way it's intended. First boss goes down without a hitch, though I do end up needing to Nascent Flash the new leaf once near the end. Their health was low enough that the next AoE to go out would've killed them.

We clear the next set of trash and once again pause briefly to explain the fight to the new leaf at their request. Prior to this I'd noticed the healer had stopped doing anything. No Holy on groups, no Glare on single target - not even a regen thrown out as far as I had noticed. I figure maybe they'll heal during the boss. ....And they do, but only for themselves. The RDM and SMN (SMN being the new leaf) start getting pretty banged up by all the unavoidable AoE damage going out, so I begin to alternate Nascent Flash between the two of them, with the RDM tossing out a quick Vercure when the undergeared SMN accidentally gets clipped by a mechanic. Boss still goes down pretty easily, uncooperative healer notwithstanding. By this point I'm pretty surprised they haven't ragequit yet, since they're showing all the signs of being incredibly salty. Realizing this, I say as politely as I can, "I understand that you wish to heal, but the rest of the group would appreciate it if you would assist with the DPS as well." The healer, in all caps, responds that they are a "HEALER" not a "STUPID DPS."

We press on for no reason other than my friend and I really not wanting to wait twelve years for another healer. Cue final trash pulls. The healer yoinks me backwards into the pack behind me while we're still en route to the second pack of the first pull. Didn't really accomplish much, but it was mildly annoying. We reach the last boss, again pausing to explain it to the new leaf. The white mage uses this opportunity to initiate a vote to kick on me right as I'm about to pull. It fails, of course. I pull. During the boss fight the healer continues to do absolutely nothing other than occasionally healing themselves and collecting vuln stacks like Pokemon. The new leaf unfortunately bites it to the doom butterflies, but the RDM scrapes them back up and I heal them back to full with Nascent Flash. Healer begins typing in all caps again while we're still mid-fight about how stupid this is and how we're hurting their game experience, how this is against TOS, etc. I guess the rez made them even madder? Whatever the case we, kill the boss.

The birb drops. The healer unironically proclaims that they have dibs on the birb because of how stressful the run was, how bad we all are, and how hard it is to play healer. To facilitate this they refrain from rolling in the hopes we'll all leave. Uh... spoiler: we don't. The new leaf ends up getting the bird, and we're treated to the sight of that healer logging out on the spot instead of bothering to leave the dungeon.

Not sure if this counts because I haven't actually gotten in yet as of writing this, but I'll post it anyway.

Every time I see someone cheesing their ilevel to get into CT with alliance raid roulette, they (ironically) tell me that if I want a specific raid that I should queue for it. So since I got a CT raid again for my alliance raid today, I decided to queue for one I actually enjoy doing and isn't totally braindead and full of AFK people.

So I've now been queued as a tank/healer duo for Orbonne for 37 minutes. I guess "if you want it, queue for it" is easier said than done. Maybe I should've been a DPS?

Lol, I feel you on this one because it took me aaaages to unlock Bozja because of this. Even nowadays I see some people cheesing; the other day a SCH's health went up from less than half to full while we were waiting for the gates to open, and I couldn't help giving them the narrow eyes.
