This is a chill game.
Yeah it is.
I joined a PF for p3s kill today and i ended up in the most unlucky PF ever.
They were pre made static ? i think? i looked them up afterwards so it seemed like it.
It comes down to double morality.
Half of the party died and we had to re-fight the fight 3 times. When we got to Death's Toll Mechanic i mislicked my Macrocosmos before hand and i panicked a bit and stood in the wrong number
They suddenly put the blame on me and said i dont understand numbers etc etc GJ GJ type of stuff.
OUUUF i got so angry that i left. I truuuuly dislike when their own group DIES to simple mechanics its ok!? but when a stranger makes a MISTAKE its like "UR FAUL UR FAULT".
Thank god blacklist exist but i wish blacklist was powerful. I just play this game casually now so i dont need to put more fire to their ugly atmosphere.
That's pretty common on my DC and the reason why I rarely fill in for statics through PF anymore. It's as if being a premade/ static puts them above that filthy PF random they just need to tolerate because their true pal was unavailable for some reason and their own mistakes get swept under the rug while anything the filthy random does is immediately adressed. This is a chill game.

Making mistakes is fine and it should be equally fine for the static as for the substistute. If anything I tend to be much more lenient with subs because they have to get used to anything unusual the static does, they're the one not having played with the static for weeks and thus are not used to them.
Something similiar occasionally happens in PFs with complete strangers. A run was ruined by multiple mistakes from various people and whoever admits to making a mistake first is sometimes treated with an "just don't do it again, focus" attitude as if they were the only one messing up or if it was their mistake alone that caused a wipe and the others would've been salvageable while everyone else keeps silent, hoping to not get noticed.
Like a bunch of children that forgot their homwork sitting in the class room while the teacher silently waits for someone to speak up and everyone breathes in relief when someone admits to forgetting their homework because now all the attention is on them.
I don't know what's so bad or difficult about admitting to a mistake like "sorry, confused left and right" or "mb debuff timers are my mortal enemy" instead of jumping at the chance to put someone else the spotlight for screwing up.
Running with statics has been fine for me on Lich EU and I do it fairly regularly.
Only time I've had issues with it before was when one of them expected me to know their very strange and not at all what the standard in pf is tactics.
It's like they were doing every single thing differently in very confusing ways and didn't bother explaining any of it to me.
The main toxicity I run into in pf really is what I described on the page before this.
People who join parties they're not supposed to be in and also don't even bother putting a minimum effort into their gear ( show up with no melds or low level melds, quite frankly probably has crap fake food buffs too ) and then when someone points it out they get ultra snarky and give you an attitude about it.
Every now and again I do run into someone who's genuinely an elitist which is very strange if you're pugging in pf lol.
But usually the main bulk of toxicity actually tends to come from low effort players, they act like it's a crime against humanity for pointing fingers at them.
And for me to point fingers at someone things need to go pretty damn far.
If I am actually directly calling you out then you've dun goofed A LOT I don't do that lightly.
Okay, so this happened last nite.
I am levelling my alt as WHM, as that's my main class & the irl friend I play my main with hasn't been available. So I've been re-running dungeons for exp.
Cut to a level 30-ish dungeon, it was either Haukke or Brayflox (I did many yesterday).
Nothing out of the ordinary, decent crew, we cleared with little to no problems. All happy.
Then, after the boss fight, before everybody left, someone said something I found very, very funny.
Apparently, I need to go to a city & buy some "real" gear "immediately"!
I am wearing level-appropriate gear, mainly gained from WHM class quests & MSQ. Nothing you can buy in a city has a patch on what I'm equipped with.
So what's the problem?
I thought for a while, & I concluded the poor dude doesn't know what a Glamour is. (My alt is wearing, let's call it a costume...)
If only he'd stuck around longer, I'd've directed him to Vesper Bay lol.
Or perhaps they wilfully leave a spot open to get a "filthy random" in as the groups spittoon, since it's always more enjoyable to ruin some randoms experience when you have you friend to dogpile 'em with. FFXIV is full of these people. That's pretty common on my DC and the reason why I rarely fill in for statics through PF anymore. Doing leveling roulette last night as RPR, got Halatali. Can't remember what the tank and healer were, but the other DPS was a NIN, who kept trying to get the tank to pull more, and even said to trust their healer(who responded with "don't trust me, I steal from orphanages"). Normally, I would agree to larger pulls than the one to one and a half pack pulls(usually NIN would grab more when the first pack was almost dead), but a RPR at 23 only has a 1-2 combo, and no AoE to speak of.
One thing I wish the devs would work on is making sure that there is at least one AoE available to each DPS by level 15.
If any of the people that insta bailed the Orbonne Alliance Raid we just completed read this, to bad for you! We didn't wipe a single time!
GG to all the people that stayed, was one of the best runs I had in recent times![]()
Level 89 dungeon, both DPS with 510ilvl weapons, not even Cryptlurker...
Both had multiple jobs at 90, so no real excuse to not "purchase" the FREE artifact equipment. I swear some people...
Party Finder E8S. One of my friends was in it for the chest glamour. Another one wanted 4 clears for the achievement. I was just along for the ride.
They had to drag me out of there before I asked the DRK if he had someone helping him get dressed every morning. We're in there with a 1/2/5 comp (so no OT to swap with) and the first few pulls, he takes the tankbuster and dies to followup autos. No big deal, we can just res him and as long as me and my DPS buddy (we're i595+ and playing our mains) don't get damage down during the first two mechanics, it's an easy Light Rampant skip. No thanks to the party lead and their buddy with matching last names, who took damage downs from every AoE possible and then some.
Pull 5, this tank suddenly decides it's time to Living Dead the tankbuster and followup autos. Our WHM (who's in voice with me; we joined this group as 2 DPS and 2 healers) immediately panics because she's already used Benny, does her best to top the tank off, succeeds, then loses her shit in voice because the tank intentionally jumped off the platform and said "where is benny" in party chat. We ressed him and he JUMPED OFF A SECOND TIME. Got through adds regardless, wiped to Wyrm's Lament memery, and the DRK starts going off on our WHM for not saving Benny and our WHM starts going off on him for waiting 5 pulls to use LD there and not communicating with her before doing so.
We pull again, DRK does not use LD, dies, says "i use every cooldown" and I respond with "yeah except for living dead" and he said "don't need living dead with all other cooldowns", and we all had to stop for a moment and wonder why he's still saying that after he clearly used everything but Living Dead, and still died. That pull wound up killing and we only needed 1 more for the WHM's "10 E8S kills" achievement. We debated whether to drop group or not and wound up sticking around for one more kill, then counting down in Discord and all dropping group simultaneously afterward. It was one of those "we got what we needed, but at what cost" situations, because at least 3 people in that team got carried very hard.
