Ya, Steam sux anyway.

What is this, the "everyone dump your dumb, incorrect opinions about Steam" thread?

You can buy it for digital through the SE Store, which you can buy with Crysta if im correct XD
I dont even think 2.0 will be on steam right away, depends how they plan to distribute it, XI wasnt on Steam until around WOTG expansion. It also took them ages to get it up to date, Abyssea wasnt on Steam until like a year+ later.

Amazon.com also has a digital download for FF14.
They probably don't want to promote till to 2.0, they also probably don't want the low meta score rating on their title page to scare away potential buyers.
Those that say steam sucks probably only play mmos or pirate most of their PC games.
It has the largest PC gaming community for a reason.

The fact that you have to buy the games means:
This isn't true. A lot of people actually dislike the steam versions of certain games because of the way the installs work, which leads to modding being a chore for some games. It's the largest PC gaming community just like Playstation has PSN and Xbox has Xbox live. Those that say steam sucks probably only play mmos or pirate most of their PC games.

The modding problem is not an issue if you disable auto update in the preferences. They've also released Steam Workshop recently to download and save mods easy. Well for games that support modding from the developer.

The only reason I have steam is because I needed it for Skyrim. It is also fairly nice how it keeps the game up to date and the workshop for all the player made mods also can keep the mods up to date. The program itself is alright and I haven't used it to buy any games for download.
My only gripe about Steam though is when I'm online and try to launch a game it takes foreverr.
I have to go into offline mode to get my games to launch instantly and only sign on for updates.
I like the way FFXIV starts up now. Just wish the launcher brought up a screen that has the option to start the game up, or open the config (so people don't need to look for it.) So I would prefer if FFXIV didn't launch through Steam. As for Steam selling it... preferably when 2.0 is ready.
