why don't poor people just buy more money?
Yes, indeed. The best way to be casual in terms of time is the go hardcore in terms of skill/mentality.
It's the same thing as Savage. A lot of week 1 raiders are actually the most casual players in the game. They clear the Savage tier in 20 hours and unsub. Most casuals play more than that over three months!
I do think there needs to be some kind of restriction on constantly adjusting prices. That's my biggest issue with the market board. It wouldn't even be that hard to implement. It's just finding an agreeable time frame. To me like 1 adjust an hour, but I'd rather it cost a percentage of your sale to discourage you from doing it, but that idea is a tad extreme.
A bigger problem is people being able to constantly adjust their prices all day with zero penalty. If for example they repurposed the sale tax as a list tax to be paid up front every time you price an item, the behavior of people sitting at the bell all day to keep undercutting new listings would almost disappear overnight.
Having said that, as a general rule any item that is easily obtainable by the community at large especially when it's this saturated is going to be worthless. Trying to focus on singular items like farmable crafting materials is going to be an exercise in frustration.
I just wish I didn't have to pay for more retainers.
My retainers are always selling stuff at max capacity and meanwhile my bags are perpetually full ( and so are theirs ).
This is utter nonsense. I've made 2 million over the last two weeks not even TRYING to make gil. I haven't been doing dungeons, I've just been doing side things I feel like doing and sending out my retainers every day.The people above who are all saying that gil is easy to obtain probably think 1M a day is some big number LOL
Back in Heavensward/Stormblood you could make 600M in a week for Savage tiers.
Ironworks crafter set and Heavy Metal crafted set were going for like 1-3M per piece during content drought. Compare that to what we have now, the equivalent of which is 30k crafted rings.
So yeah, gil has gotten harder to obtain.
The people who are shaming you, OP, are probably not that good at making gil in the first place, don't worry.
I used up about 6 million fixing up an apartment and made it back in about 3 weeks of barely trying.
There isn't anything in the game you actually need gil in the first place for and I'm sitting on around 20 million with nothing to do with it.
Meanwhile on my server the red IX materia sold for 50k per piece before savage raid...
