Like your idea, but I don't think could do a naval battle type content with FFXIV. Exploring unknown Isles and having your own ship sounds awesome that's probably what some people were picturing in there head when first introduced airships.

They can make a naval battle type content that doesn't rely on aligning your shots and such. I was more thinking along the lines of the G-Warrior type of combat that you see in the ShB trial questline.

Also I wasn't thinking of PvP naval battle, I was thinking of having open world enemy ghost ships or something that everyone can join and engage in, much like FATEs, except it's over water!
