The idea that FF13 had the best ANYTHING is a sad joke. But the best music? That goes to FF7 and it's not even close. That article is terrible, the writer's analysis of each game is sooo shallowly put together. It's as if the writer has no concept of what any of the games were about.
There is plenty of good to be said about FFXIV and there always was. It had the best graphics (may even still have) on the mmo market and it had a decent soundtrack. Gameplay wasn't ever as terrible as it was made out to be either it just wasn't finished. 1.21 was pretty good so here's hoping for a good 2.0
The biggest flaw with FFXIV was that it was half assed by the higher ups. Did not give it nearly the amount of time and money it needed.
For nearly a decade their business model has been to simply go all in on graphics and abandon every other aspect of FF games. Then they use a bunch of cheap marketing tricks to milk people out of every dime they can. People complain 14 was incomplete, every final fantasy since square-enix merged has been incomplete. The spin offs / sequels / prequels are even worse.
I agree they are going down hill, but I have to say I really loved the FFIV stuff, the remake on DS was wonderful and the sequel, After Years was good. As much as I dont want to admit it..... FFVII: DoS and FFVII: CC where not that bad -.-The idea that FF13 had the best ANYTHING is a sad joke. But the best music? That goes to FF7 and it's not even close. You should consider reliable sources not amateur sites, dude![]()

i notice an industry wide hatred for 14, a bad re-review or defamatory article always pops up whenever theres a patch, and always seem to ignore anything post 2010![]()

I stopped reading at Final Fantasy XII.
You can tell when he gets to XI and says he's never played it that he probably hasn't even played XIV and just going off information that he's heard secondhand
Gonna have to say 1,2,6 and 7 are my fav's but 1 & 2 in the vid are remastered, 6 was the best midi imhoLOL. Here's a video with all of the battle themes:

Not even close. The only thing XIII has going for it is modern sound production.

To be honest, XIII and XIII-2 does have some of the best battle music of the main series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7RnDbJKYOs This got me more excited in a fight than any other FF game honestly.
Also, taking Kotaku seriously is like taking Sankaku for anime news and polls seriously.
Well, XIII and XIII-2 weren't that bad but to say "best anything is a sad joke" is a bit muc-
Saying FFVII has the best anything is a sad joke.
