The game does tell you that very clear tho?

So much so that you get a popup AND in your chat that somebody is new and you get rewards for it too.
You also see a "watching cutscene" on their party list name and above their actual head.

And PS5 people cant type that fast mostly, no? As least as far as I know.
So, maybe they "can't" communicate it, but the game sure makes sure to communicate it for them.

Personally I'd be fine with being trapped in a ring until everyone watches the cutscene. It sends mixed signals to players when them watching the cutscenes is a burden to others in their story driven mmo. That's just me though I'll never understand the mentality that is so selfish that they feel the need to ruin another person's experience for the sake of their own.

But at the end of the day these interactions are SquareEnix's fault as they failed to adjust for human nature.

I don't really pay attention when I zone in, but PS5 players/4 players can communicate with a cheap usb keyboard, or even an auto translate option. If someone wants a favor, then they should just ask. I don't think a heads up about it is really that difficult.

If they can't be bothered to ask, I can't be bothered to wait.

IDK what the value of posting on an alt is. I've only had positive experiences with people that recognize me from the forums.

If it were really bad, you bet they'd probably get a nastygram from a GM a while later, though.

Then pay attention to anybody else in your party, maybe?

How is it their fault if you don't look at the chat, where it also stands, but also look at the chat to read them say "pls wait for cutscenes, i'm new".
Most people even say "First time" anyways as if it's not made clear by them watching cutscene and the game telling everybody else.

Funnily enough, just before, somebody said that new people should pay attention to mechanics to not die when they zone in midfight.
So, it should go for everybody, doesn't it then?
Pay attention, the Circle takes longer to go away BECAUSE somebody is watching the cutscene at the start of a dungeon/anything.

Is it really so hard to do others a favor and pay a little bit of attention because maybe they "can't" (thats why in ", there's always options) communicate. Not everybody buys a keyboard for their PS5 either or knows how to autotranlaste (one can never know... i've seen things...)

Goes both ways, if you want people do YOU a favor, maybe do THEM a favor by looking at what the game flat out tells you?
Game tells you before they type in chat usually that they're new, too, except they write while zoning in.

You're getting incredibly defensive over "Just say something when we zone in" - that's literally it. Ask, and I'll at least wait since I'll see it in the alliance chat, the orange is eye catching enough. Don't ask, and I just assume they don't really care about it.

I don't have the system messages in my chatlog, either.

Since I believe that to be enough, I'm not really arguing. It's sorta just how... y'know, social activities... work. And this response to it sort of baffles me.

We have all needed systems in place to make it for everybody a good expierence. What you call for is something that should not be considered at all. The reason you can make out yourself with the following questions:
I am old player cleared all content, you are new player cleared nothing - who has more rights ? Who is the VIP/stands above ? I am entitled to expect as a old player to "alway fast and god like gameplay" of my team ? Or you as new player "i watch the cutscene and YOU WILL WAIT BECAUSE I DAMAND IT and we pull single groups" ?

With the answers to these questions you will come to the same conclusion as me: Talking to other player is necessary. Social interactions need to take place not "witch hunts".
If you take things personal - Are you sure about the behavior and intentions ?

All player have the same rights. My advice is - communicate with the group and ask them. If it works- GG, if not- a good sip of tea and carry on.

The icons above clearly show people watching a cutscene

If someone wants a favor, then they should just ask
Expecting you to have a little common courtesy and a few manners isnt a "favour"

Okay, if that is true then I am not seeing why this would be a recurring issue that spawns a ton of pages. I mean it's nice to be able to watch the cut scene as it happens, but if the group isn't willing to wait for new people (they should say "hi I'm new, can I watch the cut scene" or something ) it shouldn't be a huge deal to cancel it and just watch it elsewhere.... at least that's my opinion.
The devs STATED SPECIFIC INTENT is for them to see it INGAME. In the moment. When they are there. Not later.

A few minutes isnt going to be a major issue. So, IMO, sit and wait. The story may not matter to you, but this game isnt about YOU alone.

A new players first experience always matters the most.

If a new player is only 1/24 or 1/4, they are in the minority and people are not obligated to automatically conform to their will, especially during *minute(s)* long cutscenes that should not be in the middle of battle instances in the first place. They are in that scenario depending on a majority of others who have already done the run, likely multiple times, and the greatest thing about it is that they are safe as long as they do not exit the cutscene.

Why am i defensive? I legit am chilling here, sorry if it comes across that way. Might just be the way I write. Am at work so i'm trying to write fast

I'm just saying - you want people to give you favors but don't give the favor of just paying attention back.
Orange/whatever your colors are, are more eyecatching than white, yes.

But it's also not ONLY in the system message, it's a flying text, it also shows above people and on their names if they do.
It IS clearly communicated and can easily be seen if you pay a little bit of attention.

You want something but give not paying attention to the ring staying longer than it does when everybody auto skips, not looking at your party list, seeing somebody watching cutscene, not looking at people to see that they may be (if they are not in your alliance, which is harder to see, but the ring thing is still a thing) in return.

Which is also part... of you know, social activities? Respecting each other by giving at least a smidgen as much as you're asking of them? Others shouldnt give more than you're willing to give back in return.

    ______________
edit: just to make clear, i'm extremely selfish actually. So much so that i flatout dont play if i dont feel like it because if i'm in a bad mood, i can't pretend to be in a good mood... Even if i usually play with friends, i wouldn't want randoms to deal with my bad mood self even if i wouldnt write or wouldnt do anything different, other than being miserable.
