cut scenes can be viewed in the Inn room journal, including raid scenes that you finish. It's probably that I am new and don't understand the situation entirely yet. Does missing the first minute of the fight cause the players who get in late from watching the cut scene to also miss their credit/reward from the fight? If not it's no big deal. On the other hand (as I said in an earlier message) if people not waiting means that people are basically forced to re-run the entire dungeon again for wanting to see the cut scene once, then I think it's a bigger deal, and you should wait.
Of course as I also said the entire problem could probably be resolved by just making the cut scenes viewable in some kind of theater.
What? I've been here since ARR, people only waited on cutscene watchers because you'd actually lock those players out of the boss room, which was GG if it was your tank or healer. Even then, I encountered a sizeable amount of groups that would just pull the boss anyway if the CS watcher was a dps since the only downside was just a slightly slower boss kill, but still faster than if you waited for the longer cutscenes in Toto-rak, SV or Aetherochemical. Not to mention people have always been rushing castrum & prae since 2.0 and leaving sprouts in the dust when they were the best sources of Mythology or whatever the tome name was back then for farming darklight gear, this behavior is hardly anything new, and was wide-spread back then as well in certain contents.
Once 4.3 introduced the warp into boss rooms feature, there was even less reason to wait. 99% of boss cutscenes in dungeons are just 15s long 'boss swoops in, does a scary roar, fade out.' And in those 15s, more often than not a dps could tank the boss due to how low outgoing damage most bosses do. These days the only time anyone ever waits is if its your healer watching the cutscenes in toto-rak, SV or Aetherochemical, and even toto-rak is debatable if you need a healer due to how fast you can melt him. The warp into boss rooms, combined with the fact that old raids/dungeons are just so insanely easy due to nerfs and power scalings over the years, means waiting for people has no incentive or penalty.
No, it doesn't. They just miss the first minute of the fight, but their reward is unaffected. That being said, calling it a minute is also a gross exaggeration in 90% of cases. Outside of 3 dungeons, every final boss cutscene in dungeons is about 15-ish seconds long, so they're not even missing a minute of the fight, maybe 30s at best factoring load times, and assuming the tank pulls instantly.
Okay, if that is true then I am not seeing why this would be a recurring issue that spawns a ton of pages. I mean it's nice to be able to watch the cut scene as it happens, but if the group isn't willing to wait for new people (they should say "hi I'm new, can I watch the cut scene" or something ) it shouldn't be a huge deal to cancel it and just watch it elsewhere.... at least that's my opinion.
Surprisingly some people don't know about the journal in the inn, kinda weird since you unlock the inn around level 10. The Journal itself don't have every cut scene but it has a great amount towards the main story, side content, raids and job etc. I think some people like to view the scenes in the moment. Myself I don't mind waiting for others, I usually use the inn after raids my first time to view what I miss, except for dungeons now that we have trust I use them for my first experience.Okay, if that is true then I am not seeing why this would be a recurring issue that spawns a ton of pages. I don’t think you understand, I play this game for me. For my progress. For my enjoyment. Not anyone else’s except maybe my spouse. The people I get paired with are a means to an end towards my own goals. It‘s not supposed to be, thats just you want, isn‘t it?
Your time more respected than the overall enjoyment of new people.
Or, if you don‘t care, you want all the other people to also not care.
You guys legit make it sound like those few seconds/almost 2 minutes waiting is going to ruin the rest of your day because you actually dont even have time to play, let alone let others fully enjoy it.
Ye, how dare people be nice to others that are new, just like you once were and always will be for new content. The audacity.
Ask yourself. At the end of the day, who are you to me?
Harsh, but that is a reality that many people here need to accept. Because at the end of the day, everyone is playing for themself.
Then, as I'm pretty sure you told someone else in another thread, maybe this game isn't for you. Go play a solo game.
Like 99% of people are fine with newbies watching their cutscene in its entirety and joining the fight after it's done. No need to skip any story. This thread is gaining pages because some people who aren't even newbies themselves act like missing 30 sec - 1 min of a tank and spank boss fight is a problem. You used to get locked out of the boss room if you didn't make it in time, so it made some sense for others to wait, but nowadays you just get ported in mid fight after the cutscene.Okay, if that is true then I am not seeing why this would be a recurring issue that spawns a ton of pages.
