I see a lot of people who love the aesthetic and story for dark knight. We just don't play it frequently any more because the current design of our actions is not the best to put it nicely. The rotation could use some work.

I'm not sure if I did understand you right but, I feel you more or less just reworded what I said, meaning: "he way "you" play and "your" playstyle."
So going on that, I can tell you that I'm never in a rush to play FF14.
I don't mind getting lost in a dungeon; to me, it only means I get to see new things, and I don't mind killing those three NPC's that just aggroed me instead of dragging them along to gain a larger group of NPC.
I play the game for the story experience and the visual beauty.
I will lvl all tank classes matter fact, I'm working on Warrior and Paladin right now, switching between them not to get bored, but in the end, when it comes to high end raiding and dungeons, you will most lightly see me play DRK because that is and will always be my main
