And honestly, even if the healer does get aggro for a moment, it's not exactly a big deal, any healer (and dps for that matter) knows or should know to bring anything they aggroed to the tank so that they can quickly grab it back simply as they AoE.Don't do that. Make sure you hit everything in your way while pulling at least with one of your AOE moves and you will be golden. Special prize if you hit each and every monster following you as you run to the next pull with tomahawk/shield lob/unmend/lightning shot if you have some physical DPS in the party so they can go ham while you are all running.

I think it's probably better to strive to pull such that you have enmity over every mob, rather than getting back at your healer. No regen pre-pull was a myth anyways. I tanked from 2.0 beta through to 3.x and regen was never a problem for me.
Tomahawk at maximum range, tab or click target the next mob in the pack who would be beelining for you now, Infuriate as you keep running towards that first pack, Overpower to catch everything, then Steel Cyclone the last stray if Overpower failed to catch it. That will cover any enmity regen can generate, and you'll have not stopped and already be on your way to the next pack. PLD and GNB is even eaiser with their oGCD AOE DoT and other oGCD hits that don't require a resource.
I see a lot of tanks who don't make good use of all their tools in a pull. It goes along the same lines as the argument for "improve your tanking by doing bigger pulls". If one argues all tanks should try to improve by doing wall-to-wall pulls, it follows that all tanks should improve the actual pulls and stop blaming regen and other healing.
DPS who unload during the pull is another matter. It is the responsibility of the DPS to select the right target and attack, to make sure they don't over-taunt.

― Ernest Hemingway
Indeed, I much better people learn to stay close to the tank if they get aggro than anything else.
Enmity maintenance in FF seems so easy some extra regen shouldn't be a problem. I haven't had trouble attacking things while moving as a DPS, either.
But if you turn off your tank stance... good luck lol

Had a weird run of Weeping City yesterday.
Get to the ozma fight and everyone is at their right platforms. Halfway through the fight i realize people are dying in the raid left and right. Suddenly a tank comes over and starts pew pewing my alliance with his laser and then trying to stand on top of me to get me killed or something. Used holmgang and some other skills to keep me alive so he died first. We managed to just barely cleared the boss with 7 people alive.

Want to second this too. It's been happening way too much lately and it's really frustrating..if you're a new tank or you paid for boosts please please PLEASE keep in mind that once you stop your pull, you've stopped until everything's dead. you're wasting cooldowns, you're wasting combos and ley lines and ruining people's positionals and your impatience is actually making things take longer.
please, continue to make big pulls. but once you stop, you -stop-. casters especially don't like it when they have a few seconds to pop off a proc and you've already moved out of their range, nor do healers like it when you move out of their heal/shield aoes.
if you stop. just. fricking. stop. please.
Yesterday doing the lvl 89 dungeon the Tank kept doing this. Gathered all the enemies, stayed still for a good 6-8 seconds, and then sprinted to the end of the path. I hit 90 and I just straight up left, couldn't be bothered anymore. I felt a bit bad for the DPS though. Not a lot of people have the 'Join duty in progress' selected and waiting for a new Healer probably took some time.
Titan hard in trials roulette. The sprout WHM non-stop spammed Medica 2. I’ve never been more happy when someone got hit by landslide.
Was tanking Puppets' Bunker as DRK the other day and had one of those off tanks that likes to stand in the same pixel as the main tank to pretend they're the one the boss is targeting. They almost killed me a few times by stacking tankbusters but I was able to get away, until one in the final fight. There were AoEs all around and I had nowhere to go, so I used TBN and they hit me with theirs but I also hit them with mine as a result. They died and I didn't. I hope they learned something.
Speaking of tanking woes, I wish people would stop standing right next to the MT when they're not a tank. I've had healers standing behind me and getting cleaved, and a whole lot of RPRs that don't know that front is not a positional. This has been happening a lot lately and it's starting to give me a headache every time I go to tank.
If I regen late in the pull and it hasn't dropped off by the time the tank pulls more, or I put it on them mid-pull, it's not a problem because I am sitting on top of the tank anyway.
As WHM it's super not a problem because those mobs can't hit me anyhow.
If you're experiencing issues with healers running away from you with mobs, just explain to them they can bring them to you, maybe they don't know. Maybe they should know by the dungeon you're at, but hey, whatever.

PLZ don't. Somehow tanks manage to pull much far ahead of me when mass-pulling when I'm healing - I'll admit my "sprint before combat" awareness isn't as good when I'm not tanking - and they definitely take bonks even while they're gathering still; that's why I just HoT up or put the small ST shield on. I promise if it causes any trouble I'll come to you with any enemies.![]()
Mortal Fist
This is a story that happened waaay back when but I figured I'd share it anyway. So I was doing an alliance roulette with my friend and we got the 3rd NieR raid (The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach). As everyone probably knows, the first boss has this mechanic where he does a knockback and you need to use one of the raised platforms to keep yourself from being blown away like a leaf.
Everything was going smoothly and the boss was almost dead when it was time for that fateful mechanic. I braced myself for it and positioned myself appropriately, making sure I wasn't in the way of the hit by the boss that usually gets a lot of people. Since I was certain I was in a safe zone, I could afford not to pay much attention to what was going on, and the next thing I know, I'm flying off the platform. My brain couldn't comprehend what had happened. Was I by any chance actually in the wrong spot? Did my brain get confused as to which side of the raised platform I should actually stand on? In any case, the boss was dead, so it wasn't a big deal, I guess.
I waited for my corpse to be put back on the platform and to get the standard return message, but once the black screen faded and I was on the platform, I noticed way too many corpses keeping me company. I glanced at my party list to see everyone dead except my friend. Confused, I looked at the other 2 alliances' lists and saw that everyone was dead. By this point, you could probably see the buffering/loading wheel on my head as I tried to process what was going on. It turned out we had killed the boss a tiiiiny bit before the knockback mechanic resolved, and even though he had died, the knockback itself still took place, but all the raised platforms had disappeared, thus blowing everyone off the platform except my friend, who had used Surecast before the mechanic resolved to avoid getting interrupted during their cast. It was such a hilarious thing to see, and we all had a laugh about it as it was probably one of the rarest things/bugs to witness XD
