Perhaps you should learn to understand context clues and not try to bait petty arguements.
In HW and maybe even SB as well, they mentioned the possibility of egi glamours to change the egis into newer egis based off other primals. What we got is a couple different colors for carbuncle, no UI system for this, and some long commands to change the glamour. So the fact that nothing beyond a half ass color pallet swap, and something simpler than long text commands to execute an egi glamour does not exist.. It took a while for them to even allow us to change the size of Bahamut back in SB. So I think it is safe to assume that the devs do not see this as any priority or care to even attempt to do anything with egi glamours beyond what we have currently. There fore "it" being egi glamour does not have any future in this game and you are right it does exist but again it is a half ass implementation so the devs can say they did add egi glamour , it just was not what was originally mentioned or what players may have wanted.
I'll take more full-sized primals as opposed to different recolors of floating cabbages and chicken nuggets, thanks. We should be summoning gods not different colored versions of McDonalds happy meals.
As far as I can tell, Egi's are gone. We actually summon the primals now.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
It would be a great idea to have a different set of summons after our Phoenix phase but unless they are going to come up with different astral flow abilities that are not just copies of mountain bust, crimson cyclone combo, and slipstream then they really will just be some palette swaps of our existing rotation and add nothing functionally to the job. I completely understand being tired of Garuda, Titan and Ifrit though, I am too. Been running with these three since ARR and just getting a little tired of the stone/wind/fire combo. Especially since now with Phoenix there are two fire aspect summons in the mix.
It already is a 2 min rotation, death would not affect anything though. If you die currently you retain the gauge set up you had. The only way I could see there being a penalty is if the summons were stronger than Bahamut / Phoenix. But even then you would not really be penalized any more than any other class for a death. As it is currently if you die, you just don't summon everything and go to Bahamut / Phoenix earlier cause they have a higher dps output than the other summons anyways. The only real penalty is wasting a GCD to get carby back out.
The only way we would be penalized for death is if the system changed to require all aether element charges be used before summoning Bahamut / Phoenix.
It's more like the rotation ends with phoenix. The filler phrase between phoenix to bahamut is really of no importance. Dying here doesn't put you back to step 1. Adding a non filler phrase after phoenix will make it a true 2min rotation again. Let's not forget that has always been a complaint about old smn in every expansionIt already is a 2 min rotation, death would not affect anything though. My main concern with adding egis after phoenix is it will simply be flavor and do not have any difference from their bahamut counter parts. Imagine getting to level 100 and the only thing you get is animations....oh wait...
I'm just some guy...
