No, I am talking about NPC Hairstyles that comes with outfit such as Y'shitor and Minfilia, etc. from Mog Station
Each NPC outfit usually comes with that character's hairstyle.
These are directly rip off NPC model and put on PC.
I am pretty sure only 1 released after Viera/Hrothgar.
By the time we are getting Omega, they don't even gives us Omega's hairstyle
This pretty much makes that other thread of requesting NPC hairstyle pointless since there is no way they are making NPC hairstyles apply to Viera and Hrothgar.
From Omega and 2B feed, I can tell they didn't create alternative models but simply replace PC's part with NPC's part.
That is why you can't recolor it.
Try to have your female Viera equip 2b feet and you can see your entire body proportion is not scaled. (2b feet is too thin for a taller race like Viera and Elvaan)

Many feet items have completely "off" proportions, that's because they don't scale specific parts of an item to a specific race.
Best example is the Plaguebringer shoes. They are TINY on any race... on males it really looks like they chopped your feet in half. However they look pretty okay on a Lalafell that already has tiny feet to begin with.

TBH I think YP only said that about Hrothgar, who do have unique CC options instead of hair customization for what it's worth (aka the stupid fur patterns that they have to be naked to show).
Though, it's been 2-3 years at this point, so it's not exactly easy to go back and find the nature of what he said.
I do remember him talking about Viera and Hrothgar having unique heads, but that's it mostly.

I'm sure he's been talking about it on more occations however.
Gamer Escape: Lots of players are excited for Male Viera. Some however are still wondering about the newer races’ (Viera and Hrothgar) lack of hairstyles, lack of visible head equipment, and, in the case of Hrothgar, needing a fantasia to change their existing hair styles. Are there any plans to level the playing field for Viera and Hrothgar players by making adjustments to those issues?
Naoki Yoshida: For both the Viera and Hrothgar, there were certain characteristics we wanted to emphasize in their design—the long ears of the Viera and beast-like features of the Hrothgar. Due to this, there was a limit to the range of customization, and we worked with these conditions when creating these races. If we wanted to make these features more customizable, we’d have to sacrifice those unique features, so it would be great if everyone could understand that at a fundamental level, it is not simply a matter of whether or not we make adjustments to accommodate this.
I have mentioned this on several occasions, but I understand why players request this—I really do. In an effort to accommodate this, even if just a little bit, we have continued to spend a lot of time assessing possible changes in structural design of the models, as well as potential additions to our current workflow. Even as I write this, I just met with the team to get an update on their testing status for this. We may not be able to get them to be exactly the same as the other playable races, but I hope to be able to give you some kind of update soon, including the status on the stubble for Hyur as you asked about previously, so your patience on the matter is greatly appreciated!

I think the quote that poster is talking about is from 2019, before ShB came out. Back before we knew how limited these races were.During some quick google searches I could only really find this.

Seems like YP's been more blunt and upfront with things recently, no doubt partly as a result of people not paying attention to what he's saying. "If we wanted to make these features more customizable, we’d have to sacrifice those unique features, so it would be great if everyone could understand that at a fundamental level, it is not simply a matter of whether or not we make adjustments to accommodate this." pretty much says it all.

Yeah, I tried finding any interviews around that time but couldn't find any.
I know I read some back when but I wasn't good enough with my google searching I guess.
Maybe someone else might succeed where I failed.
But it's weird... The advertised appeal of Viera and Hroth before they were released wasn't the actual amount of customization options making up for the lack of hats?I think the quote that poster is talking about is from 2019, before ShB came out. Back before we knew how limited these races were.

Or I'm remembering things completely wrong and this wasn't mentioned...
I am and it's been hell trying to track down the clip of where they talked about Viera, Hrothgar, their limitations and goals with the races. I remember it very well being hit hard with the "There will be no hats or modern aesthetics", but then they swung back with the promise of more customization options to compensate.
It was. You can dig into the Viera Benchmark thread (and similar posts from the time on Reddit) and see people mention how few selections Viera had for hair. The general assessment was that we would be getting more, as we were told Custom Hair during the No Hats announcement. Then they never came, and the customization was the same as any other race, but with even less options.
Editing as I continue to look, but found a clip where Zepla shows a clip from the post-launch Q&A where it is stated again that there will be race specific styles added.

Edit 2:
She also continues to the explanation about why they decided on no hats. They wanted to go "all out" with the customization on these races, but it seems these statements were made before the team, presumably, hit against spaghetti code and gave Viera and Hrothgar standard customization options. IE: special feature style (ears/tails) and length. Not anything special or unique or "all out". Also all these limitations were about face parts, and not sure how that looks internally.
