If you have the OP's mindset and go into Savage, please don't.
It's a waste of everyones time.
It's not about being sensitive there is a reason why people expect you to have melds and food buffs too, and chances are that if you do this kinda stuff that you're also not bothering with a lot of other stuff too.
The point is for causal playstyle, the new skill removes the need of a flank positional. And because you only need to rebuff once every minute, you stick at the boss' rear and reduce chance of failing positionals, just that.
I don't know what makes you think your group is something that would appeal to me though, maybe it does, but not with people like you in it, just FYI, and this is the point of the second sentence in case you also need to ask.

Very true, which makes me develop different playstyles, NIN is one of my favorite jobs, I play it in group content whenever I want to rest my brain and just enjoy the mechanics and scenary.
