NPCs I dislike cuz personality: the trio Hermes - Amon- Fandaniel and Asahi. They are all freakingly self-center.
-Hermes, whose personality of oversensitiveness isn't fit the nom of his society, decided to let his emotions get better and doomed his whole people as some kind of "test" cuz he disagrees with how his people deals with life and death. Ironically, he granted himself the right of judging his own people's life and death cuz he accidentally had the means.
-Amon: another oversensitive individual who cannot accept death as part of life after his Allagan Emperor died.
-Fandaniel: basically Amon with more power, and decided to nuke life cuz a world without his Emperor is worthy to exist. Coincidentally, his wanton self-destruction acts as a forceful mankind test like what the original Hermes had forcefully imposed on his star. I guess apples won't fall too far away from its tree, considering Fandaniel is sundered Hermes.
-Asahi: his simpeness for Zenos is annoying, which is coincidentally similar to Amon's simpness for his Emperor. His manipulative and gloating personality is the worst. His death caused by his sister, while well-deserved, felt unsatisfying. There is no instance where WoL is allowed to pummel his face hard, and he had his last pointless triumphant against after-life Fandaniel, while still simping for Zenos.
NPCs that I dislike cuz less-than-quality writing:
-Lyse: very underwritten character. Revealing Yda as Lyse basically did nothing but resetting players' feeling on Yda to zero, and they had to relearn Lyse's character, which was not very well-written. She had a lot of screen time in SB, but none of them were memorable. If anything, her screen time only helped to emphasize Hien and Raubahn. Alisae was more well-writen in fewer scenes she had compared to Lyse.
-Mikoto: in the Bozja questline. Her "fixed future foresight" echo and her sentiment toward it felt dramatic for the sake of drama. The ability itself was just a plot device for the story to move onward. A bad one. "Well, they have a primal queen that can enthrall our soldiers now, what to do?" - future vision - "Oh, so we can come to this place and ambush that traitor. Well done, Mikoto".
