Right you are! Which is a particularly nice subtle little touch of development on Emet-selch's part, considering what it took to get the grumpy old ancient to see it that way. Still, in that context I don't think the term is incorrect or somehow wrong to use, from an outsider's perspective, especially in matters of fiction. But if you just wanted to point out that little tidbit to me, I do think that makes for an excellent bow on both characters.

I guess it continued in this thread, because this is where more inflammatory takes showed up, so it stayed easily accessible and active on the front page of the sub forum.

There is still a lot to discuss on the Sundering/Ancients topic, but I couldn't help but notice in tonight's backread that folks still occasionally reference the OP when we're lightyears away from it.

It just feels like to me that what's been going on in this thread has trailed away from being conducive to lore.

I don't think we're broadening perspectives at this point. We're just turning syllables around, and restating the same things.

I get the need to vent. I do so myself. It's just you know. The thread is almost 90 pages long now, and it'd already started getting repetitive like 30~40 or so pages ago.

I mean, we will probably just go in circles again in whatever thread becomes hot next, as that is the nature of this forum (I've read up posts from years ago, and seen cyclical arguments between protagonist enthusiasts and antagonist enthusiasts, and the only discernible differences were plot related. And it seemed like people were more open/forthcoming in the past, but I guess they weren't as tired then).

I mean, feel free to ignore me. I guess what I'm really suggesting is something of a recess or a break on the topic? I guess it might not really do anything, but generally the first step to not thinking about the same thing continuously is to think about something else.

What else to people want to talk about? Not throwing shade just asking, cause if there is something else in the lore you want to discuss then make a new thread on it and we can all get together to stop people making it about the morality of Venat's actions again.

I can't think of anything that would be as compelling a topic. It's not everyday that a story introduces a complex anti-villain as a centerpiece to heroic high fantasy.

But there are tons of things to ruminate on, all from Endwalker, that we could try to make threads for and talk about.

Perhaps an Endwalker sidequest thread or uhm, information compilation on places like the Aitiascope or the other dungeons. I know I don't have all of the details about the nitty gritty of Endwalker.

Course, I guess no matter what we discuss, if it's new, then we wind up chewing cud after a while just like we are now, because we're waiting on the new things to come out.

The other major topic I've seen is whether or not the themes of EW resonated with you and the various theories as to why or why not. The most common one being that people under the age of 25 wouldn't appreciate it because apparently young people don't experience suffering and despair until then. :P Weird take given the past couple of years, but a popular one.

I... I have no words to express the utter... no I can't say what I'm thinking .. bad Rannie... that is just crazy

I wonder how one of my coworkers mother would feel about that given she lived through the attempted genocide of the Muslims in Bosnia back in the early to mid 90's and she was under the age of 20....

Not to let that be taken as the only way that someone can go through suffering and despair... more it doesn't discriminate age wise and can happen to anyone and for any reason.

Yep, that was my response too.

Reddit. It's just something I've seen recurring in threads discussing the theme, there isn't an active one about it (that I know of) currently.
