The Reasoning behind The Sundering? (*6.0 Endwalker Spoilers*)

A lot of older 1.0 information is framed as people at the time not having the info we had now.

Like the 7th calamity was assumed to be the final one because the previous 6 had been linked to each of the 6 elements, the 7th would be all of them at once aspected to Umbral and that would be that.

Same sort of deal for the void and the songstress and such, people just didn't know the real deal. The one that struggles to fit the most is the echo, can't really handwave that one away as people not knowing the truth when it's stuff they experienced first-hand.

I do wonder where the original plot for 1.0 would have gone, I wonder if they still have rough storyboards outlining the general intentions. I'd love to see them.

Does that mean that Hydaelyn technically was a thing in 1.0, just that no one at the time knew the songstress was her? If so that means that she can't have been a non-factor and would have given the 1.0 Warriors Of Light the echo.

All 1.0 information that hasn't been specifically brought up by 2.0 or onwards is basically in a perpetual state of quantum uncertainty. This information could either be true, different to how we've seen it, true but irrelevant, or completely false, but we can never know until the current writers refer to it either in or out of game.

I have absolutely no idea which one the songstress is.

Hydaelyn and the songstress was never mentioned per se in the game except for the last story quest and one of the circle of knowing saying we should look towards her... (and when I say msq I mean final msq which was about level 30 ish maybe higher if memory serves me correctly and had nothing to do with the quests for the up coming calamity which where GC quests at that time)

At the time the most we had was some type of Owl and a feather to represent her in game.

Edit: that was also the cutscene in which we found out our Companion was from Ala Mhigo and we saw Gaius the first time and called him Vader..

And could I ask what the 'owl' situation was? I didn't play 1.0, and this is the first I've heard of it, but a friend of mine has a mythical owl as a background detail for a character and I think she'd get a kick out of it.
