Are japanese Datacenters really such paradises?

Have not been on JP for many many moons because of ping after moving. If you are looking for perfection no place can be perfect, unless it is for you!

It is umm, either different type of bad or different type of good depending on how you view it. Will say that I prefer JP mentality over NA mentality after being in both places. Was quite culture shock because you hear about NA bluntness but people here have been more passive aggressive then any JP person I ever knew.

Bullying and toxicity exist in all places however without ruffling any jimmies again will say the kind of vitriol you experience on NA is very very different concept.. very different indeed.

If you are visiting JP server please attempt to learn the language, believe this has been said many times. Do not google translate we know and it is difficult to understand. There are JP who speak English well too, would rather you speak English then Japanese poorly.

In hopes am not responding to another troll thread what am attempting to say is if you wish to visit JP datacenter go for it, just be respectful and as you would hope to be anywhere and try not to have pre conceived notions. I feel like this is advice applicable anywhere though.

I keep a few japanese words and phrases on notepad so i can copy paste them when needed. I can google translate JP to EN but i will not answer a google translated EN to JP. I reply with 1 word or short phrases.

I also do not join PF if it clearly says JP Only. If it doesnt say JP Only, I will join and at least say よろしくお願いします.

I have characters on both EU and JP and also lived in the 2 regions (started playing FF14 in Japan and now moved to Europe) so here are my 2 cents:

1. Nobody is ever toxic or negative, everyone is always extremely helpful and you can make friends with everyone regardless of whether you are japanese, chinese or westerner

False. While there is less overt toxicity, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
If you fail, people might not kick you but they will disband and reform without you.
Result and meaning are the same - just the manner it's done is different XD

Japanese is also one one of these languages where insults work better when hidden behind a compliment.
I can say that you're a very energetic person when I mean you're annoying or that I can see you are really doing your best when I mean you're really terrible at your job.
So if you don't read the air, you might take things as compliment when they're really not

2. They can clear all content via duty finder and party finder with extreme rates of success, be they savage or ultimates, and the skill level in japanese DCs are tenfold what you would find in NA DCs. There is never any debate or disagreements in duties.

Somewhat true. I used to clear everything through PF on JP server in the past and cried a bit when moving to EU.
You use DF to learn a fight and PF to clear or reclear. Clear party and reclear parties do feel way more consistent.

Most of the time, there is ONE strategy, and you'll stick with it until then end of time, even if a new optimized version comes up.
Healers don't need to "adjust" XD

It's good or bad. I like having great structure for raids. But on the flipside so many times in dungeons we would do simple pulls when I barely see that in EU and I prefer the faster pace.

3. Nobody ever overprices or undercuts severely in the marketboard, the economy is extremely healthy and everything is sold and bought at fair prices.

The JP server I am on is WAY more expensive that the EU server.
But I'm not a crafter, I don't make anything myself so I don't really care about undercutting personally

4. Nobody is ever inappropriate in social interactions, there are no sexual advances or swear words, everything is always kept E.

Again, because it might be less obvious doesn't mean it is not there.

5. You can buy houses just by walking up to them and clicking on the placard, there are more houses than there are people who want houses.

Tokyo-ites are not as skillful. We have less subtlety and just get straight up passive aggressive.

But seriously, yes, "reading the air" is an important skill to have in Japan since there are many times when things should not be taken at face value.

At least in my experience from being on a JP server with very few English speakers since ARR...
I think this has changed. I experience quite a few runs where the tank pulls wall to wall. But a few years ago it was more group by group.
But I've never been in a run where the healer (usually me) or DPS asks the tank to go faster or slower. It's usually quiet, the tank goes at his/her pace, and everyone adjusts.

An important aspect of sarcasm is wit.
But people in Kyoto are known for their veiled insults... without wit.
