Example: I cast sleep on the toad. If I cast sleep again within the timer cooldown and it sticks, the effect is halved. So instead of casting sleep again, I use Stun to avoid the halving of the effects. I continue doing this until the beast is dead.

The impression I got was that there is one for each specific tactic.
