With a hat like this, ears sticking through would actually look really terrible. For this hat, all they have to do is hide the ears. You know that's what they'll do for Miqote. I don't understand why it's so difficult to do the same thing with Viera.

Hrothgar has some helmets their heads wouldn't even fit inside :P.
I think that the moment we start thinking about this it kinda falls apart immediately, imagine how bad it'd be to wear a helmet with horns too.
They're still attached to your face if you're an Au'Ra a blow to them would still hurt you or worse and people could just grab on to them and fling you around and they're out with helmets too.

I remember in the Baldur's Gate 2 Beta/ Alpha one of the demons in the tutorial has wings and wears armor but the armor only covers the front his entire back is exposed to give way for the wings.
These things are just complications altogether.
I dunno why in DnD that tries to be '' grounded '' too Tieflings often have their tails out, if characters in the setting don't seem to care then I dunno why we as the players should.
Maybe it'd be really uncomfortable to tuck your ears down under a helmet but at least you wouldn't lose them.
Like maybe you could tuck them back in a backslip and bind them or something.

For the most part, I've been fine with not being able to use hats as I mostly just wear glasses with my bunny boy anyway, but damn if there aren't some hats I wish I could wear. Like the Kabuto from the New Years event with my Samurai outfit.

yeah, i've been contemplating changing my race for a bit now because it feels like i'm always being left out of holiday events (since they for the last year it feels like) never really gave out full sets of glam and just gave hat stuff that I can't even use. Sometimes I got so demotivated seeing it I didn't even bother with the event like the current one. I still haven't bothered with it.

That being said, I wouldn't mind having unique viera hairstyles to make up for the lack of hats. However, we haven't seen anything like that since the race became playable as far as I'm aware.

This is very fair, I just meant from a visual standpoint. Miqo’te ears aren’t very big. They can fit in a big poofy hat and it makes sense why they wouldn’t show. Seeing tall Viera ears disappear completely would be a bit jarring. I would be okay with them being folded down for some hats and that would be ok. But to see them completely disappear would be weird to me personally.

The "difficulty" lies in the fact that none of the viera hairstyles possess a hair deform that would be applied when wearing a hat, and they don't seem keen on doing it, despite that being the standard for all the other hairs they've released. If at some point they do this, then they could follow the example of Miqote as per hiding or clipping through.

Your answer is too vague on why they’re a low priority, I need you to elaborate.

Tell me, what are the other things SE should prioritise? Why do you think it’s acceptable to bring in new races and hold off their compensation for 3+ years? Do you think it’s fair Viera and Hrothgar have been unfinished races for all that time?

It seems tails can clip through capes just fine but players can't choose to wear hats with viera ears that clip through. I wish they would relax that policy.
