Roleplay Party Finder Account Suspensions

Surely advertising a bar RP venue as 18+ is the responsible thing to do, rather than allow minors to wander in with no warning. The updated ToS very clearly state any 'vulgarity' or 'profanity' or adult roleplay is entirely acceptable so long as consent is given, so in this case RP venues making their atmosphere clear from the outset are working to establish that necessary consent. Punishing people for being responsible adults communicating the nature of their venues clearly seems ridiculous to me & I hope these suspensions are overturned.

Also last I checked '18+' is an advised age restriction, not a profanity.

An add-on to this, our venue has faced the same issue as well. Our leader got promptly pulled into the GM Gaol, told that their party finder was inappropriate, and suspended without any penalties, even when they requested to speak to a supervisor or get any information why their advertisement was inappropriate.

The party finder was as stated here. On nights when the venue opens or on other days - we post no more than one or two:

They were immediately dropped into Radz-at-Han despite asking for reasoning and clarity and suspended.




Again, the reason was also "profanity", but this was not discussed at all when said person was pulled into the Gaol, other than "read the TOS".


As clearly stated in their "Updates to Prohibited Activities", advertising Player-Ran events in the "Other" category is not an offense.

Roleplayers do not want to break rules, just like all other players. But if we don't know what we're doing wrong, how can we correct our behavior? If we don't know what's "inappropriate" in our party finders when there are other party finders that advertise in a similar fashion, some with quite a handful of advertisements, then how are we able to fix the issue?

Why does a player immediately get a 3 day suspension for a language infraction that can be easily fixed by simple explanation of what's "infracting" on the Party Finder, but as people have clearly stated - nothing against advertising a roleplay venue in the "Other" tab is against the rules.

It looks like you're advertising 18+ stuff at your own risk now, even if the advertisement itself is not the least bit risque. Yikes. I do not like that. My sympathies.

No one is running RP out of the game. There are a lot of people skirting the truth in here to make it seem like their totally innocent, not in any way against the tos venues are getting them suspended.

With the amount of times that people will needlessly report roleplayers and roleplay venues out of sheer spite, you can see why people would start to be skeptical and come to this conclusion. If we are not directly putting adult themes/erp in someone's face, we need to know exactly what the issue is. If it's venues linking their carrds, if it's their 'to-be-interpreted' language in the party finder. It needs to be more clear cut so we can follow the directions, otherwise a warning would have suffice.

LOL, I don't really care if they do it in game, or in private. I don't have anything to do with the reports. I just think there's a lot of mudding the waters to make them seem like they did absolutely nothing wrong.


I said the same thing when streamers got banned for harassing people outside the game.

oh, okay, so RP events can only be spread through word of mouth. That seems very strange to me. The GMs should reconsider their highly antagonistic posture toward the game's RP community.

Hey, I'm actually the player in that screenshot. I threw up two partyfinders that day, one for my friend and I's venue (not marked as 18+) and one for my FC and winery/spa/restaurant RP venue. I also want to mention that I appealed the ban and cited the lodestone article on the 'other' category, and my ban appeal was denied and they said it stood. What really bothers me is the lack of explanation and how unclear the rules are. I hope Square Enix rethinks this policy or at least explains their logic so others can avoid this in the future. This is also my first infraction during my time in Eorzea, and my first time spent in DM jail ended with a 3-day ban. Seems a bit unfair to me and has honestly diminished a lot of joy I have for this game.

Our circle's take-away from this is any kind of partyfinder listing for RP is NOT okay, despite it being unclear in the rules. We're also discussing telling people to remove anything explicit/ERP related from their carrds as a preventative measure.
