How about no?
I don't play MMOs for pvp. If I wanted pvp, I'd play a pvp game.
"I'll take 'How to drive away 98% of the playerbase' for $2000, Alex"
They'd have more luck centering 7.0 around Lords of Verminion and Chocobo Racing.
PvP focused 7.0? Just give me the memo aas early as possible so I can unsub immediately and ignore the game until 8.0.
Games for me are for relaxing, not for competition. I have real life for all that PvP thrill.

Wait for 6.1
You're a minority and always will be.
If you want to play that kind of game then there is completely new game out there and it even plays in a New World ... you can see for yourself how popular and successful that game is right now![]()
Myself and others HATE PvP and if I were forced into it I would QUIT.
World pvp favours only one kind of person.
Those who derive pleasure from others misfortune.
As someone who enjoys pvp in other games I don't really think this is a good idea. For one simple reason. This game isn't pvp focused. It did even start out with zero pvp and only was added in small doses as additional content that was never meant to be the focus of the game.
Additionally it would go completely against what this game is. It mainly is a jrpg that happens to also be an mmo. So people play this game with a certain expectation of what they'll get for their money. Suddenly going against that after 4 expansions (not counting ARR as an expansion) would alienate the players who made this game successful.
I am all for adding more pvp modes that people can optionally queue in or an overhaul of how pvp is played in those modes. But bringing it to the open world or making it the forefront of FF14 would completely ruin the identity of the game. Especially when there are so many pvp games available that do PvP better.
