    You're not wrong that it would still largely be useless, but we kind of need Esuna mechanically. Even if we stopped using cleansable debuffs in the future, they'd need to retroactively change that in the past. At least this way we could condense buttons on all healers by 1 spot (even if WHM still somehow has plenty of hotbar real estate compared to the other healers), and these buttons would have a use once in a while.

    Here's the only way that I think we could save Freecure, and in all honestly, I don't necessarily think this would be a good thing for WHM overall, but make it so that whenever you cast Cure, there's a 100% chance that your next spell--any spell--will have an MP cost of 0 and drop Thin Air. You want people to use Cure? That's how you do it. I doubt it would be very healthy for WHM, so really we should just kill Freecure once and for all, but watch it survive another 2 or 4 years.

    At that point they might as well just delete Freecure and have Stone/Glare grant 5s of charge toward the next Lily, since Solace is already free Cure II. But it would change nothing because you still wouldn't burn Lilies to avoid overcap.

    For WHM at least, Cure I still has a lot of use in the middle levels. It's perfect for healing up non-tanks for example. If it was replaced by Cure II through a trait, that would lead to more overhealing and wasted MP.

    For the random proc however, I would prefer if that proc upgraded the spell to Cure II (or a crit heal like AST has).

    regen costs marginally more mp than cure 1 and heals 3x as much. theres no reason to use cure 1 if you can use a regen. if theyre about to die from unavoidable damage, cure ii wont overheal

    also 15% chance to make benefic ii crit is extremely useless. if you have crit in your gear you have a higher chance to just naturally crit that benefic ii without wasting gcds fishing for a proc.
