Are the recipes for the items listed in the "permanently removed" section going to be removed tomorrow? Or is it just a list of items that will never be used again in the future of FFXIV, but will still remain until their recipes are completely removed at a later date?

That was my question from the beginning. It can go either way. Most of me thinks that the list is only a updated list of what recipes are going out, and the list of ones coming in. But, with that being said if you look at the "possible recipes thatll make a return" there are some items in there that could replace what they are taking out. So .. I feel like nothing is technically being taken out, just being shown now what "will be" taken out when they actually do a full switch to the new recipes.

Either way, the items themselves wont be deleted. They will just be useless and have to be vendor'd, or will still be useable

No items will be deleted. They will just be rendered obsolete.

Okay let's divide this into points to make it clearer:
1 - No item in particular will be removed, Bay said so himself.
2 - Old, outdated receipts will be removed from the game (You can in a way read that if there isn't a replacement the receipt won't be removed but good sense dictates that they will be.)

Using those two it's possible to surmise that if an item is listed in the 'Will not be used' list, then the particular item is pretty much out of the game for good, it will not be used in future receipts and it's creation receipt will be removed. That means that the item remains with you, but you can't do anything with it other than selling to the NPC.
The receipts of the items are definitely going to be removed, but the items that already exist will remain.

Which comes to the question, I orginally had on a different thread. Is this happening this patch? Or in 1.22 which was originally stated in a 1.18 patch revision thread in dev thread.

That's one way to look at it, Skies, and I've considered that. But if that was the case wouldn't they have said something like "Dated gear can no longer be synthesized" just to confirm it?

Oh well, only time will tell.

Exactly. Makes me believe it's just an update to the list they already had, and that the recipes arent being made Obsolete just yet, not until the next patch after 1.21
