As I keep reading and rereading the Recipe post, I'm with Thev, I'm starting to think that they are "Becoming" obsolete, not that they are being deleted at this moment in time. Just being put on the list of things being deleted at a later date.

As do I .. I need to know now! lol. Either way I'm fine, but if I sell i lose about 15 lvls worth of crafting, and easy gil. If i just keep and they are useless .. then meh just gil.

in german forums they're already using the past form:

"Materialien, die sich auf Nimmerwiedersehen verabschiedet haben" that's like
"Materials that have been removed and won't come back"

I don't think they are removing them from the game, I think they are just saying these items will have no future use.

I suppose if they do delete them it will save my clearing out my retainer inventory :P

Sorry if it seems like the English version of the text is a bit overbearing, but the Japanese text simply states:

"Items that will no longer be used in the future
The below items are materials that will no longer be used in the future including 2.0 and beyond."

Bayohne, when will those items no longer be used? Currently there is a use for many of those ingredients in dated recipes. Will those dated recipes still exist in 1.21? Specifically, can I make Silver Franciscas (and the components) in 1.21?

Awesome, thanks Bayohne! Seems as though, for now atleast, they won't be discarded, nor useless after 1.21. I'll check back in a few hours when I get back from work to see if there's an update.
