I got everything in terms of being a legacy member but the one thing I regret is maxing out my gil. Gil was so easy to get back then and if I just had maxed out my gil I wouldn't have to worry about gil ever again.

It's still easy to get, if you just save all the roulette bonus gil, but it's slow.

Kinda wish I hadn't left my legacy character behind these days.

Not making my 1.0 character the star. Thing is, she was stuck on Balmung after 2.0 launched, and I wanted to play with my friends. So my Lamia character ended up becoming my "main" while my 1.0 Lala got left by the wayside.
I eventually rescued her over to Lamia and one of these days I'll bother getting her through the story.
During ARR, I played a Miqo'te Monk, but when Heavensward came out, I wanted to play an Au Ra. I initially used a Fantasia (I had a few saved from the old promo's), but then ended up really missing my old character, who really felt like he had become a CHARACTER in my eyes. So I used another fantasia to change him back, and created a NEW Au Ra.
Honestly, that was the worst decision I ever made. FFXIV really is a game that you should only play one character, and simply change them whenever you're getting bored of their appearance. Minions, mounts, achievements, various quest-unlocks -- I just lost SO much stuff, it literally was like I'd never played the game.
Truth be told, I kind of wish I'd started my character(s) in Limsa Lominsa, because they're always portrayed as "first" on the various UI screens. And when you leave Limsa for Sharlyan, I feel like that would've been a more impactful scene if you'd also started your adventure there. And really, Limsa seems to continually be the "main hub", as you travel to Kugane, Sharlyan, and even straight to the Waking Sands.
not trying extremes earlier, thinking that you're supposed to have 100% regen and medica 2 uptime on whm till I was at almost lvl 80, not keeping gear up to date
I logged in during an event and didn't complete the event. I was used to the idea that events are the same every year including the rewards. Boy was I wrong! lol

In XI they usually were, just adding on at times, but you could get prior rewards.
Now you need a credit card for that...
I'm okay with that because it's like if you skipped a month's subscription. People who subscribe get that little extra bonus reward which are found in events that change every time (except the ones that repeated this year for reasons). So if you want to skip a few months but miss an event, you can use the funds that you would have spent for that month on the event costumes, orchestrion rolls, pets, etc... They don't charge a lot for the event items which is fortunate and can all be bought for less or equal a month's sub. At least to me, it makes sense.

Well, you used to be able to buy previous years event rewards with gil when the current event was ongoing. A much better system than putting them in the cash shop imo.I'm okay with that because it's like if you skipped a month's subscription.
