Dungeon Mechanics are a little repetitive [[Spoilers]]

Well its true, is it not, isn't this why Square keep doing it with more "edgy" content because there are a lot of FF fans who are now in their 30's and want to go back to the grungy 2000's again. Footfalls is a great example of that, very much that style.

I get you want different things, but that's no reason to start insulting tastes that differ from yours just because you personally don't like them. They could say the same about you.

Well because I've personally never understood why people gatekeep things so hard, its a harsh thing to say but the vast majority of people in this game play it casually, with only a tiny percentage being "hardcore" and yet its the hardcore that get to be elitist and decide what kind of content Square will make next. I personally have never thought that is fair, about any game actually. I have never seen any game be truly democratic in how they make content, they just ask whoever the most popular youtuber is at the time and let them speak for everyone in the community. Why anyone would watch somebody play a game they could play and experience themselves is beyond me.

Also, the type of rock used for a lot of the games soundtrack has a distinctly 2000's feel to it, since Stormblood actually. Some of it, like Footfalls comes across as Greenday made it. That's what I mean by that last comment.

What in the world is hardcore about the MSQ content? Even at release every boss is clearable with only half the party surviving, not to mention that as soon as you gear up to the current "max" (via tomestones OR crafted items) the mechanics become more and more forgiving, letting you stack vulns and still living. You can floortank the whole dungeon with your party dragging your dead body around (they will NOT like this though) and still get the same rewards.

Interesting, I didn't get that, but sure if that's what you hear. But just because the composer has picked an influence doesn't imply a bias for the entire theme of the expansion. Being an edgy teen isn't generational, I've seen a few generations come and go and they all do it, just in slightly different ways.

I am saying this as a 30-something who quite likes 2000s rock and doesn't want to go anywhere near reaper.

Well lets be honest here, the majority of Final Fantasy fans (speaking about fans of the original games) are about my age (33) so from where I'm sitting, Reaper does look like a power fantasy to recapture lost youth. I would just prefer less edgy classes, even Sage feels that way with the whole "Floating Knife Lasers" thing. Its a little cringe worthy in my opinion.

I just think the FFXIV needs more light-hearted new content as all this Endwalker stuff has been edgy, depressing and a bit "crawling in my skin", if you get the reference. Sometimes this game seems too "anime" for its own good. The best content for me personally, story wise was the contextualised inter-state politics, it felt more mature rather then lapsing back into this "Shadow the Hedgehog", end of the world rubbish.

You don't get much more mature than an expansion that pits nihilism against the will to live. There is no big bad out there to punch in the face. We have to face our own internal demons of dread and despair and stare down our own mortality.

I can agree the dungeons feel like they are getting lazy. Which they honestly have been for a while.

The raid is nice though.
