I have three pages of mounts...but almost without fail when I summon one it'll be from a much smaller group of about a dozen or so. Many of them NEVER come up.

now that you mention it, i see the same mounts very often too, and i have 5 pages, 129 mounts... there's some that i probably haven't seen in MONTHS...

It took an outside view to discover old 1.0 code that was causing the log in failures/disconnects

Reminds me of something that happened in the MMO Asheron's call many years ago. Some players complained that it seemed like as soon as they entered a dungeon they went to the top of every mobs agro list. This became popularized as the "Wi Flag" (named after the player, not the console that was years away). The devs said it was their imagination because they had gone over the code and found no issues, the players dismissed it as "derp random is random, it's your imagination" as they always tend to do.

The RNG algorithm in the game is random over a very large sample size, but is also incredibly streaky. Like I was overmelding gathering gear the other day and ended up melding several 5% chance melds within a few tries at most. But I'll then to on and fail 4 times in a row with a 95% success chance.

I love how you mentioned this. I was talking about this with someone just a few days ago and how on some days you can get certain mounts with a higher frequency than others. Like, today you could summon your mount and every 4 attempts you may get the Borealis horse and Gooblue. RNG is funny like that.

But if you're partying with randoms, whoever is waiting for help -- you might be partied with them at whatever dungeon they are in. There are a lot of new players.
If someone queues almost naked, the party will be queued where the lowest ilvl is the highest rating in queue.
If you queue as a full party, you can match the level average so you can get something more interesting.
