It's now been reproduced and confirmed, and a fix is being worked on.

In the FFXIV game sound driver, there is a calculation where some audio is not normalised. It has been found that this bug will occur when the calculation process cannot catch up. This mostly impacts older CPUs of about 10 years ago, but it has been also been confirmed in some of the latest CPUs.
(Translation mine and I welcome people who speak technical Japanese better than me to finesse and correct it, my Japanese isn't perfect by a long shot. Knowing audio and programming I am taking 「数値の桁数の調整が正常に行われない箇所があり」 to mean the audio processing technique "normalisation", which is basically getting all samples being mixed to the same number of bits and volume.)
Release time is (as I read it) after the next patch, which is already in QA - so it can't be included in that.
Interestingly my Intel I9-12900K is affected, so, I am personally thinking as a layperson just considering the logic of it the sound driver was offloaded to the processors efficiency cores, where it got bogged down. Maybe.

Thanks, and heh "where the number of digits is not being adjusted correctly" isn't really a replacement for "not normalised".
