And ... it's because she has the perfect reason both pre-and-post hindsight? I mean ... even after given the full story, and that his action will lead to the end of the world, he freaking did it anyway "muahaha we're all deserve to die!", that's why he let Metion escape while try to mindwipe the group. Aeon later with all of his memory restored and he's still not changed as evidence in his lines in the final dungeon. So yeah, I would say Venat was pretty on point in trying to keep him in the dark.

On the other hand, Venat knew he was one of the key architect in stopping the incoming disaster. Remember post Elpis thing is already in motion, it was no longer a question of if but when. It makes perfect sense to use Hermes's knowledge in stalling the disaster, because all points toward if he caught wind of the "truth", not only he would probably not help in fighting the first Final Day, he probably would help accelerate it!

Like I said many time, people are free to agree or disagree with Venat decision. But hers is one made with solid foundation and reasoning, not because she simply took our words for it.
