It has been an unfortunate trend for quite some time. A pattern emerges where some see any criticism as a personal attack to the point where they rush to defend each and every decision made by their favoured corporation.

The same individuals often fail to grasp that a lot of criticism comes from genuine investment and that it's perfectly possible for some people to enjoy the game without rolling over and accepting anything and everything thrown their way.

Or people just simply disagree with your criticisms, or the criticisms of other people. Welcome to a discussion. We've got genuine issues in the game and people are out here posting several threads about a lack of level 89 dungeon gearset and the walkability of a zone...

I think there’s a difference between disagreeing with the OP and telling him to quit the game completely and get out.

They're free to disagree, though when they're making bold assumptions about the person behind the post then it suggests that the issue is less about the content and more about some people daring to have the sheer audacity to imply that the game is anything less than perfect.

Furthermore, just because a particular individual does not see a certain element of the game as a concern it does not mean that others do not. I don't do high end raiding, though I wouldn't say that players who do have no validity when providing feedback just because it doesn't interest me specifically.

The thread's premise is primarily about a lack of content, however - which has been a common point of feedback for years at this point.

Alrighty, I'm willing to hear what your actual issues with the game are at the moment, please share.

[1] The open world is a barren wasteland for the most part and they haven't bothered to incorporate gemstones into the older expansions as a way of trying to incentivise some life into the open world. I recall as a new player doing MSQ I would ALWAYS see people in troves farming fates, and this was something pretty consistent until early on in HW

[2] They've reduced a fairly complex and once lauded crafting system with its own mechanics into a macro fest, wherein the focus is no longer on an interesting and engaging system, but rather on pushing out macros and gear at a low-cost. They could quite easily balance this just by referring to 4* recipes in HW which involved people from all walks of the game making a significant amount of Gil.

[3] The lack of hall of the advanced as a way of teaching players intermediary mechanics like stack markers.

[4] Learning from their more recent forays in Shadowbringers of making class/job quests mandatory beyond a certain point in the story as a means of teaching people good habits early on as opposed to letting bad habits manifest. As is likely to occur with how rapidly people level through the story these days.

[5] Linking back to [1] they've incorporated a lot into Bozja which to be frank could easily be passed on into the open world giving a higher sense of danger. I have no sense of danger in the open world. Something which has been thoroughly criticised in the past.

[6] Glamour Dresser. - Many people are already pushing themselves to the absolute limit with glamour space, and you want them to be more varied in this endeavour? They should be increasing this allowance long before anything else.

[7] Raids - They need to involve a little more than just a square or circular platform, and I don't even mean they need to be innovative about it. Having us go through the corridor in Pandemonium would have been a great starting point.

These are genuinely amazing points and I agree with you 110% on all of them. I will say I originally made my OP in haste and frustration after being kicked from the server for the 4th time in 24 hours mid-dungeon.

This is the issue I take with using selective datasets like dungeons as a means of pawning off content cuts in the game. Realistically those resources and budget has gone to allowing for some fantastic quality of life changes throughout the years, many of which now are taken for granted, and has gone to allow the developers to branch into more niche areas of the game. They should be catering to a wide audience of the game and not just become a dungeon or glamour meat machine. - I most especially take issues with such statements when in reality they're just tired they aren't getting a wider range of duties in their expert roulette.. Why not merge all 81-90 trials into expert, alongside the 2 most recent dungeons, and dungeons from 50/60/70/80.

Yep, and for the most part I have no issues with the general flow of the game, even if the routine is getting very tired at this point. We've lost an extra Expert dungeon within the last 2 patch cycles because they wanted to focus more on other content. Of which I assume the Bozjas or Ocean fishing were a part. What irks me is that rather than seemingly hiring more people to develop these genuinely really fun additions to the game, they've moved people over from what they were already working on and subsidised, or rather, cut other content.

This is what is troubling me the most, in that we're getting less while the company is making more. The reward for our combined contribution to the coffers is not being met with further innovation or development.

At least in my eyes and opinion.

I hate to point this out to you, but the OP's second line "I also am well aware this opinion will invoke the ire of the much lauded "community". " could actually be considered a personal attack, since are we not all part of the community for this game?

as soon as that was put in their post, its a attempt to stir up drama because of a lack of substantive facts in their post. I actually agree with some of what they said, but I do actually see the reasoning behind what it was done. however, since someone has already pointed out where the OP is wrong on other parts... its clear the OP is just stirring the pot as it were.

actual valid criticisms have a place... yes. after insulting us all.. is this such a complaint?
