    Hey guys.

Remember the days when the internet didn't exist, expansions weren't a thing and sequels were about 50/50?

They aren't selling you an item if they don't release the copy right to that item. When you buy something from the mog store you are buying a license to use that item, not an actual thing that you own. Both the in game EULA and EULA for the mog store make that very clear. When you buy a pack of MtG cards, they release the copyright of that item to you to do whatever you want with, in so far as you don't infringe upon the name MtG in your resale or distribution or use.
Copyright Release is when a copyright holder releases something to be used commercially while still retaining the rights to that something. It doesn't mean letting go of all Copyright associated with that product.

I don't think we disagree here. Individuals users can do what they want with a product they buy when it's a phyiscal product. The only time corporations get involved is when you try to act as business in your selling of the product. As for software products that is up in the air depending on where you live. Moving this back to NFT's. Implementation of NFT's would be done with SE blessing as they would be the ones creating the NFT's. This would be no different from them selling any other item. Eula would be amended to include NFT's if they decided to go in that direction.

We don't disagree to a point. SE or any company for that matter isn't going to release anything for a single use ownership in the way the current iteration of NFTs work. As far as I am aware none of the current "Metaverse" games that do NFTs do that. Its all allocated purchase to volume of NFTs purchased per user or items backed by the NFT that get purchased and most of those games the NFT is devalued since no one buys them. So people either take a loss of the NFT value or keep investing money.
NFTs are simply a double dip to the sub fee, pay for the game and every expansion, don't forget the microtransactions on something that you already don't own.

Quite a few sell "land" on NFT. That's single use ownership.

I am sure some of the housing primals would adore FFXIV housing to be NFT based, the free trade and RMT for tokens would make them a mint.

SE has plans for NFT's that much is clear. NFT are just digital containers. They can contain, art, documents, etc. If Sony made every item in the Mogstore an NFT how would your gameplay be negatively impacted? It wouldn't. You would just see someone running around in an outfit like you do today. NFT's stay on the blockchain not SE's severs. They cannot be taken from you once purchased. SE, if they wanted to could enable interactivity with other games using NFT's or allow users to create items for sale with their approval.

All you would see is people running around with different outfits. There is an association amongst gamers that NFT's are somehow inherently bad or greedy. They are simply digital containers. What most people are doing is putting the fear that they will be exploited on NFT's instead of with the company's business practices. An untrustworthy shady company will always be just that. NFT's have nothing to do with it.
