Let's talk about Zenos *****Spoilers******

You can burn me for this opinion, but in my eyes, Zenos was the weakspot of the entire Endwalker story. He doesnt contribute much in the story and I didnt even cared for him.

If you would remove him from Endwalker, it wouldnt change the story (much). Valens van Varro was 100% more menacing than Zenos in Stormblood and Endwalker combined.

I thought of something epic at the end, because I like the style of Zenos.

Everyone thinks he's dead but we never saw it happen, and therefor it never happened. Last we left him he was just panting on the floor next to us, never saw a final breath. If an important character dies off screen, they probably didn't die, any writer worth their salt knows that much.

Wasn't that the whole point of his ark in EW? All that power and obsession, but it didn't make him at all relevant, and it didn't even get him what he wanted until he had a slight change of view by the end.

Now that said, I'm not sure if it being intentional makes things better or worse for him.

Yeah, he needed to understand how the WoL worked before he got what he wanted. I think EW did the best with what they had with Zenos, but I feel like he should have stayed dead in SB. I understand that a lot of people really liked Zenos in SB and beyond but it's not something I can understand because I've never liked his character. To me, he's literally just there.

Hopefully now that he's 100% assimilated Shinryu by the end of EW, SMN will be able to summon Zenos in 7.0

I feel like we watched different cutscenes, because it definitely shows him stop breathing. It even shows a closeup of his chest stop moving.

To be fair, Hildibrand is relegated to his own side quest and people who don't like his content and type of humour can easily not do his questline.
