Would be nice to finally get some Curly/Afro hairstyles included into the game

Is your entire presence even "nesscary." People are allowed to talk about who they are. There's literally no reason not to, except to appease people who think they have the authority to tell us what to be proud of.

It is an open forum, they are free to state what they wish as I am. If a discussion opens up awesome, for the most part I thought I was being rather civil about it. Though care to elaborate by what you mean by presence?

Additionally, I'm struggling to grasp how it's unnecessary. After generations of legalized slavery, normalized racism and cultural eradication - it shouldn't be terribly surprising that some form of mending/healing occurs when the persecuted are allowed to finally express themselves and embrace who they are without fear of retaliation after enduring mistreatment.

I guess for me it just boils down sure I am part of a marginalized group, but as I mentioned I really do not see much difference between being proud over an aspect we had no choice or control over. It was 100% a random chance we happened to be born into a marginalized group or say born into money, and letting something you have no control over be an identifying marker is weird to me. Such markers imo detract from the core of a person, I rather be seen as a person based around the merits I have control over, not over things I was just born into.

That is just me though, as mentioned I have family that is loud and proud and they are also at ends with my view. To me it seems overly tribal and to d a degree archaic. Though I get how it can be misconstrued, though that is not my intent and I do not feel my comment in itself should be taken as such though if someone does take it that way they are free to ask me to elaborate like I have, and if they still feel as such that is on them, I cannot change how people choose to view my words.

I like how someone merely said they were black, and people came crawling out of the woodwork to call them names, argue with them, and call curly hair ugly.

Really makes you think.

I do not think a single person said they were ugly, messy yes and that is a fair opinion some hairstyles do not look messy to some people. For the most part it appears to be a civil discussion. Most the "slide" comments seem to coming from one or two people but their comments have nothing to do with hair, or color of their skin.

I'm all in for more variety, I'm tired of straight or cringe anime-hair. I get that it's part of the aesthetic of the game, but years and years after that I suppose we're past that. Anime hair is ugly as sin, and yet they keep pushing this style, so I don't see why they shouldn't to give us other types of hair that regardless if they are ugly for other people.

Dreads would be nice. Lotta cultures in the eastern hemisphere had dreads in some way or another. I think Egypt, India, or the Minoans have the running for the oldest record found depicting them. I do not think anyone said they were offended, or uncomfortable I know I did not. I said I found it weird and unnecessary to the request at hand that is all. It is just a differing view and or opinion.

Oh I would love that. Don’t have curly hair myself, but my mother is one blessed with very soft very curly hair. Ok she doesn’t play XIV but I know a big chunk of the world has curls so having a bit of fun with curly styles may be really fun.

The hairs usually look ugly so its probably a waste, dreads like that viking picture is probably the best its gonna look like or else it'll just be a mess. If they gonna make more hairs then let it be more all around usable and not some useless "represent" thing. Not that hard to choose one of the current hairstyles to try and represent you it is still a final fantasy game and not gw2.

Pretty sure you said ugly right there… Anyways instead of being somehow triggered by a simple hairstyle request for a game and dancing around the point by making excuses for why they shouldn’t be implemented, i’d prefer it if you just said you don’t want them in the game period at least that way you’d be being more honest. - _ -
