This by far is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever read on a forum, and especially given your initial post. Much like your response, you can parade around as much as you like and try to reason it to "people being too afraid of speaking cuz report" - Hardly the norm, regardless of how much you want to look at it.
Sure it happens, but it's very low down on the list of reasons as to why people are quiet. If people are too afraid of getting reported because they spoke then they ought to look at themselves. It's ridden with this whole "HELP, why WAS I BANNED I DID NOTHING WRONG"

If you mean dungeons, its kinda hard for me to talk because I'm just "speedrunning" it and playing the game I'm not good at typing and playing at the same time, of course if there is a newcomer I will wait the person to watch the cutscenes and explain stuff if there is a query over mechanics.
Now social content in general is a thing, you can chit chat in Limsa, go for RP activities, Club stuff, active FC and so on. Of course you can join the balance they have a lounge where you can talk about stuff non related to parsing and min maxing your class, Hunt discords they are pretty active too.

Not baiting. I started there (very briefly) and hated how the community was. My time was short but I was there maybe three months.
I came here and it was incredible, people talked everywhere. Over the last couple months I've noticed a rapid decline, it just so happens it coincides with a certain demographic joining us here.
I used to actually defend those people on here when people would call them out, but honestly, I can't deny it's not just a coincidence, its a HELLUVA coincidence.
Got banned for I believe 25 days for singing/typing wade in the water in the firmament gathering instance since it was so drab and quiet, and got reported by people who never said a single thing until I typed. Keep my talking limited to hi/thank you/word/do you wanna join lalafell discord/ and fc. Then banned for 2-3 days from the forum for saying I avoid (Letters) group. No swearing at all or directed at specific person but hit just as hard.
Personally I'm just not intrested in random social interaction with strangers - I'm playing the game with my partner, I've got an active FC and a couple linkshells... why would I want to have random chats with strangers?
This goes double for most casual content like dungeons, trials etc. I'm here to play the game (sometimes with friends), not to strike conversations everywhere I go.
Personally I never really understood why people are looking desperatly for apparent random conversations with random people.

The only WoW-related increase in poor behaviour I have seen is people blaming poor behaviour on WoW players. I literally have seen no change in how mannerly people are in the game or the forums. Not baiting. I started there (very briefly) and hated how the community was. Sure it's annoying when some WoW players want the msq removed from the game or the raiding scene to be entirely changed to match WoW's but that's not really bad manners, that's a difference of opinion and a failure to understand that a different game is going to be a different game. Not the same problem.

That's a huge tangent you just went on. I never said any of those things, sooo.. Yeah, don't really know what to tell you.The only WoW-related increase in poor behaviour I have seen is people blaming poor behaviour on WoW players. Have a nice day though.

Honestly, I'm more of in the mind of people in general being people, and will not fault them for being part of a demographic. I don't know for sure where they're from, and it shouldn't matter anyway. You're either a jerk or not. Jerks know no barriers. Not baiting. I started there (very briefly) and hated how the community was. My time was short but I was there maybe three months.

Not really a tangent given I mentioned the forums and wanted to nip it into the bud before anyone claimed, not just you, that liking a different type of game is some manner of rudeness. Unfortunately I have seen that behaviour before.
