    Weather in towns please.

I feel it's odd how a town built on sea is completely immune to weather changes.

Also I'd like the specular shaders of most of the textures be dynamic. It just doesn't look right when nothing looks more shiny during a rainstorm. Even wood looks as matte as ever when it's raining.

It would be a completely different experience to shop in Ul'dah if a sandstorm suddenly started or to walk in windy Gridania (sorry the pun).

I would also like this so that environments feel more immersive!

Scratch everything I just said in the OP. You speak the truth.
More than anything I'd like to feel like the towns are alive and I have some reason to talk to NPCs even if there's not a gigantic immersion breaking "!" marker over their heads.

Pfff, It never rains in Limsa because the Lighthouse is actually a Weather Control Tower.

Weather they can do as they already do it during the events.

Shaders? That takes optimizing plus they need to get it working right with the PS3 which DX and OGL handle it a bit differently, even with the same engine being used.

No thank you. Weather in town would suck. It will either be raining all the time or a dust storm. I'll pass

Fine and dandy to have the weather in towns - just for the love of all that is sacred, add a toggle on/off weather effects. It is aggravating not being able to turn the weather off when I am on a system that would be happier without the effect. =)

I'm pretty much sure that weather effects have been kept out of cities for performance reasons. Also, while some weather effects (namely rain) would work? I seriously doubt a sandstorm would be anywhere nice to see INSIDE ul'dah.

But they had snow in the capital cities during Christmas.. I don't quite see that being any less intensive than the occasional rain or fog. It also wouldn't be difficult to add an option in the menus to scale up\down weather effects, so they only appear in certain places\don't appear at all. FFXI had this.
