IIRC sanguine doesn't lower damage taken unless you're a thau and have the trait...so all you're getting from aoe sanguine from brd is a kinda not so great +mp effect.

The point is and always has been the MP recovery. Being able to throw it on the tank has great benefit, as the tank usually gets hit repeatedly and heavily, allowing it to make effective use of a recovery rate that is as low as 30% damage taken. The Moogle fight is a solid example of this.
The MP regen song is great and all, but it's going to be a regen. A well-placed Sanguine Rite can lead to immediate and/or very quick MP gain.
The best part? I'm pretty sure both the MP song buff and Sanguine Rite will stack.

Ah, I just see alot of people mentioning throwing it up before primal 2hours or whatever, assumed they were talking about using it as damage mitigation. The point is and always has been the MP recovery. Your reply here, in all honesty, is just as presumptuous as the ones you reply too. At this point, we have no idea if the jobs will have ant variation in traits from the classes. The trait is what adds the damage mitigation effect of the spell.

I certainly won't say it isn't possible but thau traits on BRD is a bit of a stretch but we'll see.
