What can we say. The man was right. The prophecy proved itself to be true. And it's exactly why it'll never officially be in game. You can all see right there that that kind of behavior irritates him. But unfortunately no matter how much people kick and scream, that behavior always without fail always comes hand-in-hand with public parsing. Just report it when you spot it. Yah people will cry and type up novels about why they should be able to do exactly what Yoshi has said multiple times now that he hates. Focusing on a casual playerbase is a decision the devs make themselves and it's despite toxic casualism like that big wall of text rather than because.

To be fair, the hardcore raiding playerbase is the minority of FFXIV and really shouldn't be catered to. Ultimately, FFXIV is a single-player FF experience in an MMO wrapping. Hardscore raiders really shouldn't expect to have the game revolve around them with systems in place that very few players will use or want to use. I am in NO WAY slamming hardcore raiders, I say go for it. But it truly isn't how this game was designed and Savage isn't really content a majority of the playerbase dives into.

That would be a terrible waste of potential because the devs are really good at making challenging content. The game can have something for everyone and saying raiders should not be catered to is not only ignorant of the content we do get but also a needless black and white approach. If the game wasnt designed for raiders we would not have savage at all. I think you are understimating how many people try out savage.
I saw some data from a year ago that states almost a quarter of all max level players global at the time had a non echo e5s clear logged, going down to around 13% for e8s. Considerably higher numbers when looking just at the JP DCs, which in my assumption are very important to the devs.

That doesn't surprise me. It's a fun fight that rewards a multi-seat mount. If anything I'm surprised it's not a higher percentage.

it's also a pretty old fight at this point, if you have a good buddy or two that **** at the game but you want them to have a 4 seat mount you just drag them through the fight, hardly high end as it stands, even if it still isn't free.
