Endwalker was a great mess(SPOILERS)

I knew from start that EW will not be better than ShB so my expectation was lowered when we (& wife) started playing on the 3rd.

It started slow but ended with a bang. Seriously SE sums up the whole story arc of HDL, Scions, Acians & misc from 2.0~5.0 (ending with 6.0). What else could I ask for more? I would like to face Zenos in a ex-trial and beat his ass though. A small regret here.

I'm looking forward to the new story arc starting from 6.1.

-issues with graha's timeline and elpis...
-hydaelyn pretty much didnt even want to tell the ancients about hermes and his creation. thus the sundering of the worlds was partly her fault. even if she did and solved it all back then, we wouldn't even be here in eorzea. so the story cancels itself.
- odd pacing, we are playing dressup with bunnies while the world is ending at radz at han.
- they made zenos follow us for 4 years and we don't even get to hear his last words?

i am done editing this thread, i've concluded that people are just mad i'm critiquing their favorite games' story. i started in 2019, and square had a great thing rolling with shadowbringers but they just dropped the ball. im probably gonna end up quitting.

Issues with Graha’s timeline? Wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff. Plus I was under the assumption him travelling back in time to the first and saving said planet changed his future. Making it an alternate timeline now.
Hydaelyn didn’t wanna tell the ancients? Emet Selch didn’t believe us, why would anyone believe her? Hermes and his pet? What pet? It’s gone, zero proof.

i found EW is enjoyable no more less than SHB (SB still the weakest for me)

but i do find some part of the pacing is taking way to long, the best example is the part where you are in labyrinthos on hamlet and the chain main quest where you and your group doing the usual "lets help around these people"

it was dragging sooooo long when i though it was finish, no we have the rabbit group appear and you do stuff to them and then go around asking the researcher if they need help they can consult with the rabbit

and when you think its done, NO!!! go pickup boxes and another duet with graha doing stuff and fight lesser mobs

like.... what the hell was that? they could cut down like half of them in a mere cutscene, when the dev said EW will be 30% longer than SHB i dont want it like this, this is just ARR dilemma again.

granted they want to build up the hype after alpi ask everyone to gather the "stone" and we see every faction helping around and stuff but the "intermission" until to the point we reach "that" cutscene is waay to long, by that time i was like "FINALLY!!!"

Honestly the time travel was the least of my issues. I don't honestly care that we did it as lazy as a plot devise that it is. What I care about is how it undercut the tensions the story was dealing with to the point of satire.

So you're on the moon and you just got told the world is going to end and you can't stop it. So you know what you need? Jar Jar Binks levels of comedic relief. Really just throws a brick at the tension.

Or were gonna shoe horn in the solution to this literal sadness/bad thoughts driven zombie apocalypse. Here's Hermes love doll now go Gurren Lagann fight Zenos at the edge of space.

It's like they fired whoever did all the clever writing we got during Shadowbringers. That or it was a fluke.
