Anyone somewhat concerned by this? Not that I have a problem with people who don't want to go through the story, but it suggests a significant number of new players as of Endwalker are skipping and buying boosts. My main concern is the average player quality is going to start dropping noticeably in instanced content. Maybe other players have already noticed it.

Um we are dealing with a community that has thousands upon thousands of players who don't even read their tooltips since day 1. We really cant go any lower then that, can we? lol I hope not.

A lot of Story Skip Potions go into Alts that have finished the story on their main, so I'm not too concerned.

That's where my story skip went aswell. If I plan on making an alt and see a nice discount on story skip + boost (or just skip, also fine), I'll go for one. Hundreds of hours saved for a few bucks and I already know the story by heart anyway.

People can skip story if the want.

The average playerbase skill is already quite low, can it get lower, knowing this community damn right it can.

Unless its an alt, I have no idea why people would pay to skip the story - which is by FAR the best content the game has to offer. I feel bad for them.

No, I'm not concerned in the slightest. FFXIV is so easy that only takes a few minutes to figure a class out at max level. There is no need to be alarmist here.

Depends on the player. Some people can actually level 1-90 and still be awful.

Said players just don't care and will play the way their want with our without skips. I'm not in favor of skips but for other reasons.

No, no, you guys just don't see it. Clearly, every cutscene you go through in Shadowbringers increases you skill level by 5%. I started out as low tier thrash and came out on the other side a god. OP is right: if people use shb skip, they won't get the power boost they receive from the solo duties and cutscenes shb has. It really has nothing to do with reading tooltips and practicing on dummies at all. Not even a little bit.
