I've also been disappointed by the role quests so far (haven't done physical ranged yet.) Healer at least gave us some interesting insight into Fordola but the the melee and caster ones were boring and forgettable and the tank one was actively bad.
The elementals completely destroyed the life of a naive kid who made a single mistake where no harm was done and it wasn't really his fault anyway. Big shocker he later came to resent them. Watching the story play out as if the elementals were the victims and some sort of benevolent saviors when really they caused the problem in the first place left a really bad taste in my mouth.


On the other hand though, the studium quests have been fantastic.
